lenny46 Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 at the nehu agm this weekend there will a vote on a proposal to purchase a gps system (gms-2 gis hand held topcom) this is so all existing lofts in the nehu will be remapped during the 2012 season in preparation for the 2013 season .in trials we found the system to be acurate .the remapping will be done free of charge and no distances will be issued untill every loft in nehu is done. however if any one moves thier loft after being remapped there will be a chargeat what price
Walter swanston Posted January 12, 2012 Author Report Posted January 12, 2012 what Gps handheld's have been passed? I have been recommended a device however I am not sure if I should put the details on an open forum??
just ask me Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 don't have a problem but if everyone is using different handheld and maybe not the same satellite will it give the same reading? im not really in the know on all of this frank tbh but as far as i know the members of the irish homing union are all using the same type of device which uses 3 satellites to take its location supposedly this is suppose to be the most accurate device also i would imagine like clocks or ets the device would have to passed by the union involved to be used maybe it would be the case of the Secretary of the club or a member of a near by club with another member to do it for your club and vice versa so its all above board
PIGEON_MAN Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 I have been recommended a device however I am not sure if I should put the details on an open forum??Personally I cant see any point in going on about it until the RPRA accepts this form of measuring loft locations, they obviously dont think that this is accurate enough to change the rules.I have plotted many lofts in the past and always get the fancier to agree with where I place the pinhole.
Guest Tooshy Boy Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 IF THIS IS PASSED WHAT IS EVERYONE WORRIED ABOUT.///
