rikki Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 why do we have to put up with all the in house hostilities of both clubs ,can we not just start again and put all these arguments to sleep ,lets all be true gentlemen and blame ourselves, and move on with a more positive attitude, lets make national racing something for us all to be proud of,remember we just get one chance at this!

OLDYELLOW Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 I fear there's not much hope of this as both sides think there right . Rules are rules , but at the detriment of the sport in Scotland , there's no true winner as everyone in Scotland is loosing out on a true national , but fanciers are very quick to split and form smaller concerns when true competition faces them , harder to change things from the outside than it is from within . I feel the big problem is that the problem is the shorter races is where all the money is earned rather than the distance races and the national suffers as they have no subsidy from the shorter races , then the fees get higher for birdage and many can't afford to send many , only way to make the distance races more profitable is to reduce the birdage cost and have better prize money for distance racing then there be more incentive to race in the SNFC events .Also the grouping of these races reduce entry's itself 2 to 3 week gaps between races would also increase birdage
dwh Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 i think that both orgs are now well established and both have good points and bad points having said this a race or two btwn the two orgs for a named trophy from say bourges ad claremont or an inland race say brands haatch but still retain there seperate identities and champions as thee unc wda and durham combine don't know wether this occurs now but its just a suggestion
Roland Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 why do we have to put up with all the in house hostilities of both clubs ,can we not just start again and put all these arguments to sleep ,lets all be true gentlemen and blame ourselves, and move on with a more positive attitude, lets make national racing something for us all to be proud of,remember we just get one chance at this! Great idea.... will never happen. More chance to pee in the Queens' ear from 50 yards into a head wind! Why!!! Ego's! Advantages. / Locations. Self indulgance of self important and wanna be ' I am Great's' Scared still of change in as much that they might give away a yard or two from what they deem is an advantage. Plus too many go along for the ride and back those whom 'Tickle their Ear's'. Whether for the betterment of not. -- Mind these same ones will whinge and moan etc. like braggarts when another tickles their ear and points out that they may be actually worse off... so much depends on whom is best at tickling ears I guess. Costs, sensibility and realism has - unfortunately - not a chair to sit on, let alone a vote. The reality is that a change for the betterment of the sport, club or fed / Nationals can't hold it's own against the afore mentioned and as such will never get a Vote!
