I am a LGV driver but in the yard shunting trailers around on a late shift.

So we got vallance who is a drug dealer, (Legal one mind)  

A redundant after-salesman who set up driving schools and a marketing specialist?  What marketing company is that then Phil? Car boot sales?  ;D

A student who is a legalized tax dodger, (not an offense Josh, common name for them in UNI).  

And we got a copper with a flying pig as an avitar!  ??)

 

Me, I'm a full time bullshitter who's a failed courier and a rich man without any money and no birds but I feed these funny things every day that got wings, I was supposed to be a psychologist but think I'm a patient by the looks of it.   :'( ;D

 

Just noticed before I pressed post here that we have a lie detector on here, pmsl, pot calling and one methinks!  One thing we ain't got is a cleaner.   ;D

Interesting to see what other folk do. I am boatbuilder working for my self, lucky as I really enjoy my work. Just strugle to do find the time to do the birds justice sometimes.

Welder to trade but have been working as Manager with a Finance company these last 10 years so will be retiring in this job when my time comes

Now this might stir up a few emotions/reactions.

After posting this message within a few minuets it’s plain to see there are a lot of professional people out there passionate about pigeons.

 

With all this expertise in the sport why is it that the sport of pigeon racing in decline.

 

Seems to me that the sport is not being promoted and marketed to fulfil its puritanical.

 

I have come back to pigeon racing after 30 years and very little has changed.

 

If the sport was promoted properly playing to its strengths i.e. patron Queen, on Coronation Street, charity work and the gambling/money side of the sport to name but a few, maybe it would have some clout to address the things like birds of prey and encouraging younger people to get involved.

To me it’s like anything you can be the best, have the hobby, do the best work but if no one knows about it it becomes futile to encourage growth and change perceptions.

 

My opinion would be that the sport needs to employ some one not necessarily in pigeons but some one who would get out there and promote pigeon racing to raise its profile.

 

NB. That was sharp Old yellow but I am afraid that the gritting of the roads is not my department but it was funny!
