Hi Vincy

You buy a Navara D40 not the D22 I have

The D22 was rushed into production using the engine block of a petrol model the result being

that the con-rod bolts are not up to the diesel compression

The bolts snaps and the con-rod is shot through the side of the block

The D40 is an excellent machine

There are 4 for sale by auction on the 22 Jan in Glasgow ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Cheers

Chris its a fact that Mitsubishi are the most reliable motors and Land rover the least! My days of Landies (except classics) are well gone. A 2.5td Discovery blown engine at 17 months old and 30,000 miles, cost £5000 for new lump and landrover contributed nowt!!

at 17 months old didnt you have warrenty? :-/

Type in D40 engine and check the reviews on this motor, there are plenty of them!! Stick to Mitsubishi or Toyota unless you have plenty of money!

Chris it was around 1991 or 1992 (i think), it only carried a 12 month warranty then! The £5000 included legal costs trying to get them to pay!!
