where does the prize money go if positions not filled

also prize money was halfed for some reason

Was thinking of entering a one loft myself next year but that's one more ticked off the list

this one loft has been a disaster as long as it's been run , there never going to make it work they can't keep the birds in condition to start with by the results of last race for last few years

well i think when the prize money was halfed i think from 30,000 to 15,000 i would not be happy if i had of paid my money

i dont think the return on the sale of the birds will be as big as before :emoticon-0138-thinking:

can always ask fer half yer money back lol , how can they do that when you enter and prize money has been offered at start then they should see it through otherwise it's nothing short of fraud !!!!

AFAIK, prize money was labelled as "expected", and if not at this OLR then I have definitely seen it labelled as such at others. Essentially the prize money is directly linked to the entry, and it is well known that the smaller OLR's have been struggling with entries since the beginning of the recession. I don't think that it is as straightforward as false advertisin or misleading people.

That is not an excuse to have libs like we saw on the vid, or for birds to be kept in poor health. The returns from this race, despite them running into poor conditions, are abysmal. If they were mine, I'd expect more than 66% back even at this late stage.

umm thats a bit fishey that m8 i was thinking of sending 5 next year aswell think i will give it a miss unless somebody can explain the cam going down just before the first bird home :emoticon-0126-nerd:

at the time of the srrival we were unaware of the web cam going down as we were all sheltering from the down pour as you are aware the livestream has been a niightmare al year however with nearlyy 100 fanciers still there undercover we didnt expect anything on the night but then as unexpected one dropped over the roof onto the landing board and in, a blue hen timing in at 18 18 ,the pigeon and wing stamp was then verified and declared the winner

hi tom if they no there has bin a problem with the web cam it should be a 100% right for the big day m8 there is a lot of money at stake here m8 so renewing a lets say £50 -60 webcam to reslove the matter i would say that is a small price to pay to keep the customer happy any littal bad bit of news in the pigeon world speards like well you no what allready so every littal minor detail should be 100% bang on m8 thats just how i feel about it anyway and they should stay away from trees on lib day many reasons hawks sitting waiting and kits smashing in to the trees very bad B)

with still only 26 home ide say someone has a lot of questions to ask and to be honest the website is poor its never eally updated properley and looks cheap as for a web cam going down that is no excuse i think ya be lucky to see anyone enter next year and them who run it should stand down the weather yesterday that early wasnt good in most parts and as yet there is no report on the site as to what went wrong

not any update for any birds ariving after 10.59 this morning

it hardly inspires confidance in the mans abilities to deal with a race of this nature

regular updates i would of thought would be a must when dealing with peoples birds/money

no point in saying your bird was home 5 hours ago but i couldnt be bothered posting it

Looked a good Liberation, Blue sky, either clashed or hit rain on way home. These pigeons are very fit,so i think bad weather, the reason for poor returns. How many birds home in the North coast classic race?

Tenny would know-he was the convoyer for most of the liberations even the smash from edinburgh -which he was absolutly slaughtered for on both pigeon sites and still got ribbed on Sunday,he was not involved this weekend due to work comitments on Saturday.

I went down on Sunday and nobody there thought the birds would take a hit like they did and most of the fanciers were giving aroud 6 hours.I saw the forcast on sunday morning and checked then best forcast of all(whats the weather where you are on both sites)and my only concern was the Stoke/Derby fanciers were saying it was overcast but getting better at around 8.30am when the birds were already away at 7am,so using the magic of hindsight perhaps they would have benifited being held for an hour or two Before its said-facilities at the loft were rolls(1 pound with a packet of crisps),tea/coffee both free and cans of lager/beer were 1 pound a can,so no big rip off there and not deadline to be met.

I have no birds in the race and only went down to watch birds racing home and to meet some very good pigeon fanciers and if i hadnt been working 12 hour nights i would have been there longer, only a shame no bird arrived when i was still there
