While putting the birds through tonight for our first young bird race of the season, I experienced a lot of hassle with the ring sensor reading the rings, a lot of rings had to be scanned 2 or 3 times before they eventually registered, this happened every 3 or 4 birds. I have known this to happen on the occasional bird, but not as much as did tonight.

Anybody experienced this before? or any idea what might have caused this?

Were there any loose rings or another clock near the sensor. This can sometimes cause a problem

no m8, even moved the sensor as far away as possible from the base station, but did not make any differencehttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0138-thinking.gif

also disconnected all the cables and reconnected them again, still had problemshttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0126-nerd.gif

the thing is, the key is attached by a piece of chain, but it has been for the past 5 years, with no problems beforehttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0126-nerd.gif

Can sometimes be caused by Mobile Fone in the pocket of the person holding the bird or a mobile near the ring marker

i thought unicon was the best thing since sliced bread ,when ever someone comes onto the pigeon sites asking whats best ets ,they are barraged with the answer UNICON . i visit all the sites and am amazed by the problems thrown up by this best ets system, there is one in our club and it never runs smoothly any week ,the owner admitted to me he could happily smash it up at times if it hadnt been £600+ :emoticon-0136-giggle: :emoticon-0136-giggle:

we would say the same about Bricon, never had any problems at all, service by Mark Palmer is second to none and ring prices far better Unikon, would never change to any other system and everybody in the club that use it all say the same SIMPLY THE BEST.

we had a similar problem at the start of the season, and discovered that the rings were the problem, they were given a good clean and touch wood been trouble free since then, touch wood??
