just ask me Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 was having chat few days back about the hardest race route we were chatting about Scotland England wales and Ireland this be interesting to have your thoughts we were more talking about the hardest route then just looking for the race with the most miles
Wiley Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 we all know a very hard route is racing from ireland from france ect, however question is what is harder racing north or south into England?
Guest youngboy Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 i suppose the boys on north west of ireland from france some range from 450-500 miles but to cross 2 channels and 9/10 its a westerly wind would be easy on the pigeons or else anyone flying long milage on north road into south ireland from thurso in and again S/W wind would be really tough on pigeons milage range from 400-510 or even the guys in south uk flying long milage noth road some guys fly 500+ milage in head wind is really tough there my opinions
just ask me Posted July 11, 2011 Author Report Posted July 11, 2011 thurso a good call into Ireland into a south west wind whole way across Scotland and down into Ireland good shout
greenlands Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 Try racing into West Cumbria, bloody imposible, even the Scottish lads have thrown the towel in and go over to the East route. It's just a heaven for BOP.Our transporter was at Flookburgh on Saturday for thre first young bird race,it was hit by FIVE peregrines on liberation, you needn't ask what the returns were like at 45 mile to me.
just ask me Posted July 11, 2011 Author Report Posted July 11, 2011 the irish birds would be flying right along there mate i reckon and that would after flying nearly of Scotland already and then still cross the sea
blaz Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 the irish birds racing from france gets my vote.crossing to bodys of water to get home
yeboah Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 Try racing into West Cumbria, bloody imposible, even the Scottish lads have thrown the towel in and go over to the East route. It's just a heaven for BOP.Our transporter was at Flookburgh on Saturday for thre first young bird race,it was hit by FIVE peregrines on liberation, you needn't ask what the returns were like at 45 mile to me. Bloody nightmare for you and getting worse by the year ,a lot of our fed members shouting to go back west as we are also taking a hammering east ,the nest site must be very close to liberation when you have been hit by a family of them think they need fed midweek
JohnQuinn Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 I'd like to know what the EASIEST route is?? Answers on the back of a stamp please!
