blaz Posted June 3, 2011 Report Posted June 3, 2011 yes you can do both using a bit of common sense having your hawk out of sight of pigeons when thay are out and if hawk is one of the bigger breed have it in full view of any of the smaller bop,s that attack your birds and mine when birds are back in the loft.
just ask me Posted June 3, 2011 Report Posted June 3, 2011 there shouldn't be any problems just keep him hidden to the pigeons
Guest Cawdy Posted June 3, 2011 Report Posted June 3, 2011 yea deffo keeps the sparrs away as well and the doos soon ken to stay back from it on the perch and the hawk shouldn't be tryin to take anything off the bow p.s what bop you got or thinkin about getting Alan

DJWa Posted June 3, 2011 Report Posted June 3, 2011 can i do both race pigeons and fly my hawk is this thread genuine or just to get a reactionfrom the members with such a controvertial subject (hawks) surely you know that just the mention of hawks/falcons etc gets members riled up and just causes arguments not having seen your posts on the other site i would guess this could be why you were banned

blaz Posted June 3, 2011 Report Posted June 3, 2011 ive got no idea if this is genuine or not but I dont understand why it should get people riled up as wild BOP takeing our pigeons is a totally different thing to falconry.yes it is real yes wild hawks kill our birds yes criminal law breaker will be getting a hawk yes he also races pigeons . i can,t see a problem with doing both and with a bit of luck when his pigeons are safely in their loft and the hawk is out on its perch hopefully it might deter the smaller bops from his area making it a bit safer for his pigeons to be out
Criminal law breaker Posted June 3, 2011 Author Report Posted June 3, 2011 nice one mate ive got a female booked for september. would rather one sooner but the birds this pair produce are quality and massive to boot:D nice to see boys flying diff birds m8

Guest Owen Posted June 4, 2011 Report Posted June 4, 2011 If I had my way I would bann hunting with hawks completely. The question I would like answered is:- what possible pleasure can there be in watching hawks killing things, that are not to be eaten, for the fun of it? Cruelty for cruelty sake surely can not be right. If I had my way I would make the people who follow the cruelty road fight as Gladiators in the way the Romans had it. Those who live by this code should know exactly how it feels to fight for there lives against seriously big odds.

Cruelty for cruelty sake surely can not be right. If I had my way I would make the people who follow the cruelty road fight as Gladiators in the way the Romans had it. Those who live by this code should know exactly how it feels to fight for there lives against seriously big odds. the main reason I fly hawk is for the seer pleasure of watching the bird fly and do what nature intended it to do. and as her catch not been eaten. any rabbits i have taken with my bird are either eaten by her or me. and in my opinion hunting with hawks/ falcons isnt any-more cruel than any other form of hunting and its a dam site less efficient and more time consuming as i can take for more rabbits and put far less work into getting my lurcher fit than a hawk falconry for me is about watching the bird fly and the buzz i get when she dives for a rabbit (catch or no catch) is the same buzz i get when when a doo dives for the landing board every body is entitled to there own opinion but before you go saying hunting with hawks is this or that please do a bit of reasearch. or better yet go out for a days hunting and see what its realy all about id be more than happy to take you out when i get another female this year regards Alan
