A question for Unikon professional users who are running on Windows 7 (64bits). What type of USB to serial adapters are you using and where did you purchase them from?

The reason I ask is because I have been trying to get Unikon to send us one and as of yet they haven't after being assured they would send it out this past Monday. I tried phoning them today but couldn't get a reply. Starting to get disgruntled ever so sligthly :emoticon-0179-headbang: :emoticon-0179-headbang:

Hi Homer49, I've been told that a lot of them are not compatible with 64bit so rather than get the wrong one I rang Unikon who told me that they would send me one and to download a driver for it off their website, but it has not arrived yet. Just wondering what types are being used by members on here who are running windows 7 (64bits). The adapter we used when running windows xp is not compatible for windows 7.

cheers

Hi Homer49

We used a targus PA088E serial to usb adapter with our last laptop (windows xp) so when we got the new laptop I tried to download an update from the Targus website but still no joy. I then emailed Targus who asked if our Windows 7 was 32 or 64 bits when I told them it was 64bits they replied saying that the adapter was not compatible(something to do with some sort of chip). I then got in touch with Unikon who told me to download their drivers from the Unikon website which still did not work. I rang them back and spoke to Darrel who told me to go on to their sales department and get one sent out. The girl at the sales department said she would have to speak to Ray Knight and she would ring me back, alas no phone call. I then rang Ray Knight who confirmed that they would be sending the adapater out that day (Monday)and I'm still waiting.

Happy days :emoticon-0138-thinking:

cheers
