Guest bigda Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 If our Federation employs a driver for 20 weeks April to late August at a fixed sum per trip,is there any member of this site who can advise me how the Fed stands with regard to employment lawif you have a driver work for 26 week you have to find him another 26 weeks you have 20 week contract, you should be ok, with that the national insurance, and the drivers insurance will be high, maybe an agency could offer better, terms, then again hold overs could escalate the cost
Leroy Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Employment law is a minefield. As a solicitor I would advise you to search the law society's website for your nearest employment law specialist and see if they offer a free first consultation - usually 30 minutes. Scottish law is different to English ad Welsh law, so law society may not be able to help, but there must be an equivelant in Scotland. Lockerbie is Scotland isnt it?
Delboy Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Any period of employment is feasible as long as all terms of the employment ie. wages, hours, over time, conditions and job description etc etc are all stipulated on contract.
