gulkie Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 I'm a member of the Scottish game keepers association this month's magazine Berts page.I quote, the funds which are donated for the management of rspb reserves and the benefitthis money brings to the wildlife it is designed to protect, needs to be investigatedrspb receives millions millions of pounds from well meaning quarters in the belief thatthis money will help to produce more birds i seriously question whether it does.the problem is that while the rspb acknowledge the plight of the populations it refusesto implement sufficiently stringent predator management in order to safeguard the birds.the people who leave generous bequests to the charity in the hope that our preciousbird life will be safe need to know about the skewed management which exposes some of ourrarest species to almost certain death ;unquote;the rspb always relate to wild life crime the rspb are the biggest offenders.there is more to this article in the SCOTTISH GAMEKEEPERissue 48 berts page if you wish to read more. WE ARE NOT ALONE.
just ask me Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 ive said it loads that we should become allies with other organisations increased numbers increased money to pump into a advertising campaign to show what the rspb are i believe no organisation single handily can take on the rspb and there money but together you never know
Guest IB Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Can't recall exact details but I do know that we are part of a large alliance that includes several 'countryside' interests. Remember it from time we were denied 'Sports' status and we joined this organisation instead. Either Confederation or RPRA-led move, again, sorry I can't recall all the details.
REDROCKET Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 couldnt have put that better myself wullie.
Fair Play Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 I wonder why Pigeon Racing was never elevated from Hobby to Sport status, would it mean we would attract a higher level of protection?
