franny41 Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 i wonder if its the same hawk john if not gulkie must be getting hit with the same one as me as i've seen it heading his way like a rocket from my lofts although hope not (have you seen much of it wullie) If it makes a kill on your property she will be easily sorted the problem i have is the garden is quite small and most of the kills are done in the neighbouring gardens and there is no way i would ask any of them could i sort my problem one neighbour came to my door to let me know one of my pigeons was behind her wheely bin ( horseman ) when i went round there were feathers everywhere and the doo hiding behind the wheely bin because the woman had chased the sparrowhawk off her hubby said to her you should just let nature take its course he's a copper (Arseh@le)anyway got the doo back a we bit of blood but looks ok. End of march before i let my birds out again mrs sparrowhawk should be on eggs by then.
kev01293 Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 glad u got your pigeon back franny,i wonder how your neighbour(the copper)would feel about being eaten alive who needs enemies with neighbours like him, kev
hawked again Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 Av'e no seen the sparrowhawk since last Tuesday. Is it no too early for her to be on her nest? She didn't go until the second week in (in Inverness) May last year. Maybe she has been relocated, chance would be a fine thing, I'll bet she's back tomorrow, it's beyond a joke now, I can't see me racing much longer, can't even let the birds out without a visit. Two o the boys in Inverness have had visitors in the night now as well, taking eggs and killing youngsters, pine martin maybe. I had a visit from a ferret last year, it was tame though so we got a good home for him, it wis stinkin.
