Guest stb- Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 lots of time a lot dont pair for another month yet
Guest IB Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Really sorry to hear your 1st round didn't hatch. But you've plenty time still to rear a team of YBs, so keep your money in your pocket. Weather is improving and days are lengthening so they will go back down very quickly. March-bred youngsters will catch YB racing from late July no bother. Just keep your eyes and ears open for trouble makers in the loft, though hopefully they'll be more settled when 2nd round eggs come along. Good luck.
greenlands Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Plenty of time for young birds mate and maybe the offending cocks will have settled by the time the hens lay again.
Guest m.bollington Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 thanks for that guys i feel loads better now and im sure my 2nd round will go alot smoother the cock has settled now greenlands he is paired up just waiting for his hen to lay
Guest Tooshy Boy Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 KEEP YER CHIN UP MATE YOU WILL BE O.K.///
Roland Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Best bred are of course the July / August so - called latebreds. But obviously a patience game to be raced 18 month down the line. I've won the Scottish Averages with late breds racing next season. But for racing last week March / 1st week April is the real beauties.. Plenty of time for two rounds. Had lat june eggs, that flew 470 miles in last week of September. So chin up mucker. How many pairs do you have?
Guest m.bollington Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 ive got 12 pairs and just had 2 ybs hatch out today and 3 pairs laid there 1st egg so fingers crosed will be ok this time round
Roland Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 So you will quite conceivably have over 50 youngster or more if you take just another two round mate. More than enough honestly. I'm not having any from my race team, and am just going to breed from 12 pairs of tock birds and am not even thinking of mating up yet. Well may wll do soon actually, but that is because I will be racing celibacy and might need some to make up 'Mates' for the prpoer racing and the distance where I will of course race natural.Good luck matey.
Guest geordiejen Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 in an ideal world mate all the eggs would be full and hatch.dont think ive ever had a year when everything went to plan.
