REDROCKET Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 we dont use the deep litter system well really we have an inch of shavings on the floor of one loft the rest are on the bare floorthese are cleaned out near enough daily of the year our hens are on an inch or 2 of shavings which is scraped and turned nearenough daily and renewed every couple of weeks we dont have a preferance its all down to time and handiness tjmo
OLDYELLOW Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 have deep litter in all lofts apart from hen side it be winter only
geordie1234 Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 have grills in young bird loft with cat litter under the grills about a inch deep done this the end of last year and prefer it just because its easier and also plan to fit grills to the ob loft
kirky Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 i use easybed for all my birds dont have any problem with it in yb loft, i leave it in all season and change it end of raceing.
Guest IB Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 I have permanent deep litter in all my sections. A local fancier uses a similar system for his YBs as yourself Frank, he just doesn't clean them out.
