I done a clean up on my comp.When I go onto any site that I have to sign in to internet explorer doesn't ask me if I want the computer to remember what I've entered.The computer remembers my user name but not my password.Anyone got any ideas.Lindsay C

HAVE A GO AT CHANGING THE PASSWORD (shrug)(shrug)

on your desktop shortcut right click the explorer icon.

click properties

click the content tab at the top

go to auto complete settings

ensure prompt me to save passwords is ticked

Looked good mate but no content tab at the top,I'm on vista that might be the prob,should have mentioned it .Thanks anyhow.Lindsay.

You don't ever want it to remember your password, that's a hackers dream.  i.e and the other browsers are programmed not to remember the password any more even if they are blocked out by asterixs' ****  The fact your computer is not remembering your password is a GREAT thing and certainly nothing you should change.   ;)

hi lindsay, if you go to control pannel and click internet options there a content tab click that then click on auto complete settings and in there check if the promt me to save passwords is ticked

saving passwords is not a problem, if a hacker wants the info hell use a key logger to record everything you type, just have a good firewall.

 

i am on vista as well it makes no differance as its explorer that you need to configure, i am using the latest explorer the tabbed version,

Tip to avoid any risk of keyloggers is not to type anything, cut and paste your passwords from a txt file that way you never type it in anything and it is impossible for a hacker to see what hasn't been typed in.   ;)
