Guest IB Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 I'd noticed this last night. The Portal is a mile across. Logged in a short time ago as bruno1 for mod forum; screen size normal; Logged in a few moments ago as IB to see what was new and - you've guessed - The Portal is a mile across. Last night; home PC. Today, office PC.
THE FIFER Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 yes its a funny one, but think its to do with those big photos, dont know why they have to put them on so big, if they put them on smaller all u do is clock to enlarge , i thought there was a limit to size,
PIGEON_MAN Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 This as been happening for months now sometimes its only a small screen other times it fills the whole screen dont know if its to do with pigeonbasics or something else.
chickadee Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Not sure why that is I have been having viewing problems but i think that is down to moving over to IE8 the other day It happens when someone posts a pic bigger than 17" screen ( 1024 x 768 ) using the likes of photo bucket nothing to do with IE8, just ask me and I will keep you right
chickadee Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 I understand about the photo sizes hence why on PG i tend to resize the pictures for the members if they are too big and then photobucket them back on - It just keeps things tidier. I have been getting it however on threads with no photo's and indeed sites with no photo's - When the mrs builds a website she tests the site in approx 15 different browsers and 4 operating systems some however dont do this hence the problems in general. It happened once before when Richard was updating the site by adding the advertising column down the side and he fixed it, on other sites a maximum size of pic is recommended large 640x480
jimmy white Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 any signature image must be no wider than 500 pixels. signature sizes must be reasonable. avators, animations must be reasonable the administrators reserve the right to remove or modify any signature or avatar which; _breaches the general forum rules _contains unreasonable animations _is unreasonably large or otherwise inappropriate. this decision will be made on a case by case basis and is non-negotiable, pigeon basics ruling,,,
