Guest Gareth Rankin Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 big george rankin took me to his lofts in irvine a few years back he gave up breeding pigeons i believe his leo van rijn were class if you contact gareth rankin on here i am sure he might have a contact number Yes Van Rijns where very good for us upto 260 miles, pushed them a little too far though, which has resulted in very few lines of them left. John Bosworth has i believe done very well in the last few years with them. Have seen the Brian & Karen Hawes sale list and photos on another website and they very like the ones we had, size - medium to medium/small with good muscle and apple bodies.
frosty Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 regardin your van rijns how far did u race them with best results and wat lines were they thanks
alec guinness Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 went down to the breeding lofts of alistair kerrs in ayrshire in 2004 with pal john bosworth where we bought 12 leo van rijn youngsters each, lovely type of bird raced all 24 between us left with one which turned into a champion for john winning thousands of pounds in national racing and is now dam and g/dam of national winners for john,he has now scored with these birds from ypres and thinks they will further. :)
JADE Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 1 from 24 is 4% success rate. just about right
