Guest Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Cider vinegar in the drinker for a few days. 5ml teaspoon to a litre of water gone in a jiffy. One eyed cold is linked to respiratory and with vinegar in the water it opens up all the airways.
Guest Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Forgot to say 5% proof organic cider vinegar is the best, I buy mine from Sainsburys.
Mike Lycett Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Dab a used teabag on the infected eye. Does the job. More importantly though you need to suus out WHY the bird has it in the first place.

Roland Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Normally caused by a little hole that causes a draught in that eye... why the other eye don't get it of course.

Guest ben Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 make sure it`s not just a peck, flicked or grit in the eye, then do as mike said, but if it is one-eyed -cold,this tells you slight orni complex, perhaps to closed in loft, without enough sunshine hitting the birds, easy to cure, with liquid sunshine (cod liver oil) BUT you`ve had a warning,so get your loft sorted NOW. One other thing, perhaps seeing this is moulting time, and weaklings can show themselves for what they are..perhaps nature has shown you a sign, and the ashbin`s the best £5 you will ever spend on pigeons. Remember you can always feed liquid sunshine any time of the year, resting, breeding, racing, the birds love it many ways, for breeding many swear by hormoform, but asda, tesco, cheap rolled(porridge)oats, mixed with a bit of c-l-o,maybe sprinked with rape or linseed(not heating stuff) ,10 times cheaper.and the birds love it early morning for breakfast, easy to pump into babies.Even widow cocks love it early morning afterlight excersise for a breakfast change, keeps them thinking, nice change 2-3 times per week.
Roland Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 one eyed cold is just that, an eye subject to cold... a little draught... in one eye.
