johnny11 Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Hi All just trying to get an opinion of what type of professional photo you all prefer. john
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Have a great dislike at the way the continental photographers butcher photos, any of the other 2 ways are fine by me.
OLDYELLOW Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Have a great dislike at the way the continental photographers butcher photos, any of the other 2 ways are fine by me.quite agree all trimmed to look the same not a true representation of the actual bird
johnny11 Posted November 1, 2010 Author Report Posted November 1, 2010 How much editing do you think is acceptable??
Guest bakes Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 like the bird to be as it is no shading or anythink iver cut and sat in clear white background or sky background but thats just my own prefurances but end of the day i do mine how the fancier wonts it doing most like them iver in normal sky background and some like to have the birds highlighted to stand out more but but as i dont take the pics i have only got to work on what they send me and information of birds ring number achievements and so on i suppose everyone is different and all have different things they wont as end of the day its there pic so i do it how they wont it doing also think out of the list of editors photographers you said the best one around today is jeff walton outstounding pics and montages jeff makes he another level compair to most editors photographers but suppose its all who you choose to work on your birds and as long as the fancier is happy thats the main thing. all best.
Guest bakes Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 jeff waltonhttp://www.jeffwaltonpigeons.co.uk/photography.html peter bennetthttp://www.elimarpigeons.com/Article6/PeterBennettphotography.htm all best.
OLDYELLOW Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 jeff waltonhttp://www.jeffwaltonpigeons.co.uk/photography.html peter bennetthttp://www.elimarpigeons.com/Article6/PeterBennettphotography.htm all best.very little between the two although between them two montages Jeffs was more crisp clean looking
johnny11 Posted November 1, 2010 Author Report Posted November 1, 2010 very little between the two although between them two montages Jeffs was more crisp clean looking what do folk think of the new photographs for Louella, they now taken by Chris Sutton
OLDYELLOW Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 mass produced photos can hardly compare with a few photos , saying that its down to the bird in the photo i'd imagine he gets 5 mins per pigeon if that , whilst others will get 3 to 4 hours for just a couple can't see much difference between old site photos and new ones birds all tend to look scrunched up on most or cornered

Im in no way criticising Chris's work, its just seems to me to be better for selling a bird if it looks more presentable

showman Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Anthony Bolton style !!!....the best photographer ever . IMO.
Guest bakes Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 what do folk think of the new photographs for Louella, they now taken by Chris Sutton is this the cris sutton that flys doos or different chap as he had mention in the newer secret of champions all about lofts ventilation and so on but have seen a good few of chris work and looks well but like said when hes got to over hundreds of birds most times you always going to have little things that stands out compair to photographer editor that is doing a handful a day so they got more time to take note to detailall best.
JohnQuinn Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Jim Hannah photographs, Always represents the birds as they are and never passes on a bad pic. Top man.

Blue Tooner Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 What do you think about this one Here is an example of a Jim Hannah photo
johnny11 Posted November 3, 2010 Author Report Posted November 3, 2010 Thanks Stuart. Thats excellent. You need to add his new award to his credentials John
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Hi Johnny 11 Much prefer Jim Hannah's picture to the one you have posted, Jim keeps the pigeon as whole and as natural as possible, the photo you have posted shows that the tail doesnt belong to that pigeon, that said it is a very good photo.JMO
johnny11 Posted November 3, 2010 Author Report Posted November 3, 2010 Hi Gareth The tail does belong to the bird, the editing to it was some cloning as the tail feathers on the photo did not meet it had a fold in it. Thanks John
clockman Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Hi John Do you have any examples of Jim Hannah's work Thanks John.oops did'nt turn out to good
Guest bakes Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 more less standard compair to how some other people ask me to do pics for them all best.
