Now that quite a few shows are under way, and for some fanciers, there birds are not quite fully moulted, ie, a flight or two to go. Do judges take this into consideration, or do they simply discount any bird entered in this condition?

THANK YOU

I personally wouldnt bother if a pigeon had a flight to go providing it ticked all the other boxes, but it shouldnt be put in show having just thrown last flight as the wing will look short.

The problems with shows is getting the right judges. Too many folk go for dipped pigeons and are easily kidded. Ive seen guys that have won nationals putting up dipped pigeons because they couldnt differentiate from the real racers. LIKELIEST CLASSES should be stopped altogether.

Guys,

This is just a local club show, between 3 clubs, Methilhaven who organise and run it, Kennoway, Leven who are within the area, this isnt an open show mind.

So for a bird to be 3/4 flight up shouldnt reflect the judge on picking it, to be the winner, ;)

Dougie as it is. :D

These pigeons are put in flown classes and shouldnt be, you know this

Yeah so why stop likeliest? If these classes were not hear then flown classes would get the birds that are never out and then unfair on racing birds. My birds go in likeliest class as they are un flown. Why should these classes be stopped when I own and breed my birds for to show them. Its like saying ban 500 mile races? If the bird is bred to show then let it be shown and let judge decide what he thinks.

What you talking about, these shows we have are for flown birds only, ;)

Think Derek is talking about the big open shows Dougie. Not regarding your shows mate

Brian, you may not put your birds in racing classes but loads of folk havent got the same principles as you
