fred x Posted April 1, 2009 Report Posted April 1, 2009 I was thinking of putting a waterbutt next to my loft to give the birds rain water, thought that it would be ok because the water would be 'au natural' so to speak. After reading this post is this a no no? Yes it's a No! No! No!. All the Droppings from the wild birds are washed of the roof into the water butt, that you will be giving your pigeon to drink.
Tenny Posted April 1, 2009 Report Posted April 1, 2009 ISNT THE ANSWER OBVIOUS?????? CAN YOUR FRIEND TAKE WATER FROM HIS HOME EACH TIME? JUST A LARGE BOTTLE OR GALLON JACK SHOULD DO THE TRICK? IS THIS TOO OBVOIUS? HAVE I MISSED ANYTHING?
REDCHEQHEN Posted April 1, 2009 Report Posted April 1, 2009 Your answer isn't an obvious one - no - if I was looking after somebody elses birds I wouldn't expect to have to lug a gallon of water round with me nor would I I therefore wouldn't expect anybody looking after my birds to do that either
Guest mikkey Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 i wouldnt let my birds drink from a water butt, like people have said too many beasties, just get an 1/2 gallon drum or summat and refill when required, it'll probably last 2 or 3 days and it wont be too heavy to carry
wilkins Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 standing water in a but would not be fresh unlike spring water
