adamant Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 sheds from the shed guy up the road from me and convert it into a loft. it seems to me that most racing pigeon folks prefer the use of a storage shed and then convert it into a loft. i am new to this and if it works out i will need to get a larger loft. for those who purchased a pre constructed shed to convert into a loft, what where some key features you needed to have? style? height? width? i know by looking at most pictures that the entrance doors where at the gable end. here is a pic of one ..if the doors where on the gable end it would work..
pjc Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 the picture would make a great loft but the main thing you would need in it is ventilation, false ceiling and partitions/sections for the birds as well as the normal nest boxes and perches.
wilsric Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 I've heard a few people here recommend false ceilings. What's wrong with the birds flying in the roofspace?

Guest Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 ordered a 12x24 will be here thursday.. will post pictures how much will it cost?
Roland Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Can understand how a shape makes a difference in price :-/ :-/ Size, and time must be the same reasoning regards costs. Can't also see why - if one can afford to buy from the makers - how not just buying the materials and doing it yourself is above many.... all have mates that can.... Personally I think a strutual frame made up... off ground. Vovered with a wire mesh, then just add plastic cladding or air vents.... or clip on so one can replace one with the other as weather / climat dictates.
