I think they have a slot there now for the pad to slide into.

 

Not on the one that was on show at BLACKPOOL last year,all depends on what size pad you buy,so I think thats why they dont fit the slot.

I have both for the birds, what i have noticed is that the birds seem to get out the sputnik traps, as where i have the galvy stall traps, the birds have nothing to grip too for them to get out, wooden stall traps the birds have a grip of either side.

i no a few people that does the same as you mate they let there birds out through the front door then trap them back into the loft via stall traps,sputniks

i only use the open door but use the trap for late arrivals etc.

birds geting out the sputnik i dont think that the case when birds come back from a race all they want to  have is water or food and rest  :-/ i dont think thats the case here its to learn the birds to go out the door and back in the sputnik for the ETS thats how i do it. some let them out the sputnik and back in the sputnik. all to there own

ive already got a stall trap fitted but going to move it from the side of the loft to the front so i have a stall trap fitted both sides of the loft door
