Chris Little Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 make some your self with 4 inch sewer pipe and a t fitting and a bit of flash band all as cheap as chips Well said mate, you took the words out of my mouth. We made our own, 4 inch peice of pipe with a cowl on the end and a bit of flashig / sealant, a fraction of the price ;)

kev43 Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 what's the best hight for the chimneys to work best. some say higher the better and some say smaller the bettter,,i made mine,,6inch sewer pipe,, 4in inside the roof panel and 8in outside the roof with t piece on m8 hope this helps ;)
Guest Owen Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 I think the best hieght depends on what is around the loft. Buildings, trees and other obstacles to air movement. But in general, the higher the better. I am in the process of making vents from ply. They will be oblong and will run from low down in the young bird section, up into the loft space and exit through the side wall of the pine end. The idea is to ventilate the section without letting light in. I'll let you know how it works later, when it is finished.
Guest chrisss Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 anyone got any pictures of these "homemade" ventilation systems?
