How would you guys go about cleaning wooden feeders? Get the power washer on them or would they warp?

Thanks

i think the best feeders are made from plastic , i got wooden ones at the moment .

but in the near future im going to make some from the plastic guttering you buy from the builders

just buy the length you want and buy the end stops what go on the ends of the guttering they just clip on .

when they get soiled you just wash them out . or clean them using baby wipes ,good idea or what .

well i think so any way  :) :) :)

What would you paint them with PJC? I was after plastic ones but couldnt find them anywhere.

would be easier to clean, and as long as the top edges of the guttering is not too sharp, i had feeders once and the birds front neck was bare due to them rubbing while feeding on the tops, but a good idea with the guttering, and will be having a think about it,, cheers m8

i have used box profile guttering before they topple over even with the supports on them i soon binnned them , i prefer metal feeders , my young bird feeder is a old metal grill pan tray  for old cooker , works wonders  ;)

I use these, they are very easy to clean and don't break like the plastic ones.

you can use them for whatever you want.  They are chick/quail/bantam feeders.

Our feeders are made out of plastic guttering - another idea my husband thought stupid - until he tried it !!

You can make them any length you want

We have wooden blocks screwed to each end (underneath) to steady them

josh plenty of plastic guttering in b & q

Another one etc is, 100 ml pvc sewer pipe cut in half with stop ends at the end. Much stronger than plastic guttering, & I should know !!!!!!!!!!!!!!, I've used quite a bit of it in my day.

Enjoy.

Hi guys

I dont mind the topic being developed into other designs of feeders. That is still a part of the topic. The main problem is the droppings on the outside, the inside is fairly clean. I think i will just give it a good scrub with bleach and water and let it dry.
