Guest JonesyBhoy Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 Im just starting to build my old birt loft.. It'll be 24x8.. although at the moment im building the floor which is gona be 24x12 to save building a sepearte landing board The floor is going to be built using 4"x2" timber and 3/4" ply.. im currently building the founds which im using concrete blocks the same size as breeze blocks. Bascially i want to know what space should be between the blocks going along the front and front to back..??
DAVIDL Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 hi jonesybhoy, i used concrete blocks for my loft and spaced them approx one metre apart going from front to back......4x2 timber will be nice and sturdy.
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 Cheers mate.. I was thinking something along those lines.. something like three rows of blocks by three rows of blocks should do a third of the 24x12..??

pjc Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 always make it high enough for dog etc to get under then vermin won't live there!

Guest JonesyBhoy Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 Gona put in a inch or so gap at front of loft, then use decking timber for the landing board. Should work..?? And we've a patterdale terrior.. it can get under anything..!!
Guest grizzler Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 hope you put up some pics when its done...the best of luck.

Roland Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 And fix a fixing that you can fix Glass too. Pillars / blockes / kerbing etc. means vermin can clib. Cover all underneather and even up the first foot of acual loft for a permanent standing.
