i have used them but i prefer the boxes without

I only have them under the nest bowl ,keeps fresh air around them

 

yes, thats good thing in my opinion,, as theres a rim round the base of the nest pan, and if flat on the deck,, makes the holes in the bottom of the nest pan useless :)

me 2 and a beer mat under the grill soaked in creosote 2 keep mites and what eva else that crawls about beyond the vision ov the human eye well away from nestpans when yb,s are bein reared ;)

prefer to scrape :)  i feel that with grills,the  ammonia in the damp droppings   would be rising up in front of the birds,,  :-/

 

I have pull out trays under the grills which I scrape most days and sprinkle stalosan f once a week to stop the ammonia and other bugs :-/

MIne are like your with the pull out tray, i clean them out everyday, but when they are breeding i try not to disturb them to much.  :)

Me, I bought the petron boxes with them already in there, makes the Wifes cleaning a whole lot easier.   ;D ;D ;D
