the syringe needle is best and will deflate quickly. Its just filled up with air. Seen it before on here.

Put the syringe into the crop and suck out the air! I did it myself 3 or 4 years ago! It's really easy. Bird Never had any re occurance and was 100% ok albeit a bit deflated! LOL

What has happened and why is this the yb has a fault, it has a leak in its respitory system that has allowed air breathed in or out to go into the tissues. You are giving the same air a pathway out of the tissues. Sadley this is a recurrant condition it may occure again and again.

i put in the needle and sucked the air out but no sooner had i put it in a pen its crop inflated again.

My experience with pouters is limited - I looked after a near neighbour's loft for a few weekends during the summer.

I just wondered how old the bird is before it starts pouting? Could it be that your youngster is normal? It doesn't look like a ruptured air sac in your pic.

Then go to plan B leave the baby till a couple days there is it seems a patent hole in the respitory system.hopefully it will resolve itself. With osmosis. This is the blood in the veins pick up the air and return it to the lungs and outside world.

Was on a wind up mate ;) knowing you got them. As has already been said, a sterilised needle, had this a few times. You may need to do it a couple of times, as sometimes the crop blows up again., but usually has no long term effect on the bird.
