just ask me Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 good birds and good management can compensate for the lack of racing young birds many people have gone on to get top class results without racing them as young ones
geordie1234 Posted August 14, 2010 Author Report Posted August 14, 2010 Thanks for the comments I was just thinking of next year with the birds I got this year
Wiley Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 Kevin Lawson of New Ollerton i believe didnt race any young birds in 2008 but had a really fantastic year with those pigeons in 2009 in the NRCC winning i think it was 2 x 1st Open's (maybe need correcting on that one) Think the birds were trained extremely well though as babies. Lawsons birds i believe were trained upto the 150mile stage at the race point sites. Lead to believe he even asked to lib his birds with a transporter at one of the sites. He took 2x1st NRCC that year allowing him to equal the legend Frank Taskers result of 5x1st NRCC's.
geordie1234 Posted August 16, 2010 Author Report Posted August 16, 2010 Some fancier by thr sounds of it
sapper756 Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 (edited) I know of a top National flyer, who breeds 100 youngsters, he races 50 right through the young bird programme, and only trains the remaining 50http://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif Edited August 16, 2010 by sapper756
Tony C Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 For me 10 youngsters that have had at least 4 races are worth 40 youngsters that have had no experience of the race basket.
