The bigotery in Scotland stoops to a new low tonight at Tynecastle.

Have to agree with you Patty Bhoy. Would imagine the Scottish cup final will be his last game as manager of celtic, best for him and Scottish football especially after the way he has conducted himself throughout the current season.

Lennon attacked by fan

Fan arrested for attempted assault on Bhoys boss

Celtic boss Neil Lennon was attacked at Tynecastle during his side's SPL game against Hearts after Gary Hooper had put the visitors two goals ahead.

Before the game could restart a fan clambered from the Heartshttp://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gifsection of the main stand and made a beeline for the Celtichttp://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif boss who was on the touchline, leading to an intervention by police and stewards after the fracas ended and the supporter was taken away by police.

Trouble ensued in the Celtic section of the stadium with fans appearing to fight with police and stewards.

Arrest

Lothian and Borders Police confirmed that the man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal and would appear in court.

A police spokesman said: "A number of incidents took place during this match including some violent disorder.

"Lothian and Borders Police will fully investigate all of the incidents that occurred at the match this evening and will work closely with both football clubs and the SPL."

Lennonhttp://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif has found himself under the spotlight for the wrong reasons in recent weeks after he had been the target of two intercepted bombs last month.

Scottish Football Association chief executive Stewart Reganhttp://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gifissued a statement, saying: "Clearly this kind of behaviour from supporters is wholly unacceptable.

"The safety of players, club officials and match officials is paramount on or around the field of play, and this clear breach of security is a matter I will be discussing with SPL chief executive Neil Doncasterhttp://static.lingospot.com/spot/image/spacer.gif tomorrow."

Investigation

Hearts vowed to give their full co-operation to the authorities in a bid to rid the sport of incidents like the one at Tynecastle.

A club statement read: "An investigation into events which took place in the second half of tonight's game against Celtic is now under way.

"Hearts is a club which prides itself on its 'football for all' policy and these sorts of actions have no place in the game of football.

"We will give our full support to the stewards and police authorities in the ensuing investigation into the events at tonight's match."

SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster concurred that such acts have no place in the game.

He said in a statement: "The SPL deplores the actions of the individual involved.

"This type of behaviour has no place in Scottish football.

"The SPL will undertake a full investigation and will be reviewing reports from the SPL match delegate, match officials, the police and the clubs.

yes could have been worse, he could have had a knife, a bomb anything, or a gun. why he had to do that i haven't got a clue,

might have had it been a Glasgow rivalry thing, never thought hearts where bothered, other than with playing the Hibs

I cannot condone the treatment lennon gets but for me he is his own worse enemy,he is aggressive, antagonistic and has had ago at just about every one in Scottish football. As to the Sectarian singing last night from Celtic it was there for every one to hear truly shocking.

thats only banter, never heard him have a go at any one, been antagonistic, and aggressive, you have to have a victim, can you "tell us all" who in Scotland feels they are the victim, here from Lennon. now speak up, if there are victims out there, bring your case to the SFA, THE POLICE, OR YOUR MP most of this stuff is brought about, on here say, Neil Lennon as the Indian sign over Walter and there are fans no liking that, there are others in northern Ireland that did not like him playing for there team, he left but he still gets it, why is that, i am here to ask find me his victims, present yer case
