Is it legal to fit a stall trap outside the loft?, then stand outside the loft and remove the rubber from the pigeon and clock the rubber. With ETS you can not clock the bird outside the loft, WHY?

think there is no problem with stall traps, as they are open to all to choose

you can put it anywhere you like (on your loft) no rules on this

yes we all no that but what hes saying is u can clock out side with a t3 stb ect but ets pad has to be in side so there for um clocking inside

you can clock them in when they are outside with ets there are no rules to say they have to land on the pad my pad is inside the loft and it clocks them before they tread on it / it also clocks them in if they fly over it you cannot beat the ets for speed clocking

If the bird is in the trap and can't return to the outside it would be deemed inside the loft for clocking and ETS

I have used speed traps. They were fixed outside the loft. And I would say that they are as quick to use as ETS. The only drawback I found was that I could not see which pigeon I was taking the ring from. That meant that I could not select my Spot and Nom as I would have done with the old fashioned clock. That is a similar drawback with the ETS. You do not get to choose which bird you clock first.

If I was flying in one of those Old Fashioned Clubs that will not have ETS, I would definately use Speed Traps.

The important thing is the way you set the traps up. If you do not set them up properly you can get birds turning and escaping. You need an internal landing board, on which you can scatter seed or peanuts. It must only be slightly below the level of the trap. The birds soon get used to trapping very quickly and with a little training will go through one behind the other. I have had them climbing on the back of the bird in front in their hurry to get in. Your only limitation is the speed at which you can remove the ring and clock the bird.

I am sure that if these traps were used more often a lot of the objections to ETS would disapear. People who have to catch the bird and clock after a chase would not stand a chance. Besides which their birds will soon get fed up with being caught and roughed up. So as each week passes their birds would be more difficult to manage. Good enough for them.

Right,  it cant get back out,  what my question is,  when i raced open door i ran in and got the pigeon them opened the door and let it back out when clocked,  is that illegal ?  NO

If i can get the bird to land on my arm and clock it with a T3 is that illegal? NO, i would be gaining time on everyone else,

I say if people want to take a chance by putting pads everywere hoping the bird will land there its up to them,  they only kid themselves  :-/

You still have to get the bird home and down

Would the same people moan if we were using a stall trap,  then going over and using the pad in your hand to scan it  :-/  i use the ETS not for speed but for convenience

im in 1 of them old fashioned clubs i use stall traps 6 seconds between clockin 1st and 2nd birds at a push  but as has been said u got to get em home and in the trap to clock em unlock the traps only 1 way to go into the loft and as a stall trap is part of the loft they are technically in the loft when clocked. would use ets if club would adopt but not going to rock the boat  as only club im in radius to fly in

dont have a prob with that it just boars the ars- off me and cant help feeling that most arent asking anything just kicking it up again  its 2/3 times a month ets this stall traps that just fly to what you want the one true thing that is said in all thease threads is you need to get the birds home early to make any of the clocking devices/systems work
