has any one used this product for eliminating external pararsites?

 

purchased a bottle from 'Easivet'and i presume you just dab the affected area with it?

 

does it work first time or better applied several times over a given time period?

It is for horses, so there might be a problem scaling the dose down for a pigeon. I'd try a drop on a wet cotton bud, and dab that on the affected area.

 

There are a number of threads on this, and sudocrem also contains it, again advice there is dab it on the affected area.

I have bought it from the chemist and used it on the dog

No its not too strong for pigeons. If you using for some sort of mite (feather rot) then just use a damp cotton bud or damp cotton wool and dab on the area twice or 3 times a day for about 3 days.

I have used it for feather mite.

The ones which eat the chest feathers. Just smear some on with a cotton bud then repeat about 2 weeks later. It's difficult to tell if it has worked as the feathers need to be moulted.

Cots to me from Chemists direct was about £5.00 for 250mls. Enough to treat the entire federation.

 

At one time it was the recommended treatment for seaside nippers in humans.
