THE FIFER Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 some birds do pant in this weather m8, if they are exersising and look ok, then just the heat,

frank-123 Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 was told it was just a natural thing they do to cool down when it is warm
just ask me Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 dont worry about it mate there just flying hard
THE FIFER Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 probably like a dog, they sweat through their mouths
OLDYELLOW Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 pigeons dont sweat so they regulate there temperature by panting , however it could be the birds are over weight and canker can also have this effect
Guest redlad24 Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 mine were doing this about 3 weeks ago, hadnt them out in three weeks and they'd only fly 5 to 10 mins land on the loft like a brick and panting, they were just over weight and not fit, put them on a lighter mix and they are grand now
JohnQuinn Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Mine do it when they are young and excited at flying the first few times, but it passes and the only time they do it is when it's hot and humid, i think the Humidity is a bigger factor when they do pant, i never concern myself about it cos i know they are fine. ;)
