False loft door

Would it be a good idea to make a second mesh door so I can leave the loft door open in the day time ? the second door would stop the cats entering the loft and allow plenty of air in, We have a pretty dry climate over here so in the summer the door could stay open all day without the worry to much about the rain.  :-/

solid bottom half, mesh top

so the cats cant sit and look into your loft spooking the birds

I think making the bottom solid is a good idea, maybe I will cut the main door in half cottage style  :-/

Just put some mouse traps in the doorway, that sorts the cats and mice out ;)

Make sure the mesh is no larger than 1/2" :)

heres an old pic of my false door on runner got the same on my section doors but now bottom panel has got bob wires on them so the birds trap them self back into there section once there in there they cant get back out when i disside to go onto ets i will just make a box and fit pads infront of the bobs so birds will record them self saves me keep on catching them specially for the longer races i intend to race if i cant be at loft they can trap them selfs back into loft and record them selfs as soon as they go to go into there section

all the best
