I always enjoy reading the Braspenning articles in the BHW. This week he mentions that he uses a cup full of cider vinegar to 2 litres. Many fanciers over hear have told me to use 5 mls approx or a cap lid full.

Is this enough?

Opinions please

i'd go with the spelling mistake capfull seems more reasonable think as cup full be far too acid fer birds anyway and surely a cup would be nigh on a full bottle ;)

Braspenning articles in the BHW suffer from both spelling mistakes and mistakes in translation. For example, once read in one of these articles that 'the pigeon's ears should stand up straight'. So it might be a mix-up between cupful and capful right enough.

In my opinion, you really need to be careful with measurements. Cupful, capful and handful really mean nothing as each comes in different sizes, so you don't really know how much you are giving.

Advice on the forum over the years for giving Vinegars has always been 5ml per litre of drinking water. In my opinion, that's a good example of the type of accurate measurement we should use.

Very true IB. the same goes for measuring any powder,a set of gm.scales would be a good buy, rather than a teaspoon of whatever.Even teaspoons aren't the same size.
