No matter what its off, its constitution is weak, dispose of it and forget about it, believe me it won't be here at the end of the season if you do doctor it back to health. When it faces the stress of a hard race it'll go down. I write everything down about my Yb's, How they come out the nest and how they fair once weaned also anything that looks off, in all my time i have never had a sick pigeon come to anything. :(

hi I know I my birds had young bird sickness 1998 they were falling of the perches

it was killing me to see birds that were in perfect health only hours before

dying at my feet ? I was told at that time to treat them with Batril

which I did things imprvoved one the young birds went on to win the longest land race

also win National I do realise this is not the norm and there is to much muck been pumped

into our birds ? it was frank Harper of Wales that advised me to treat

as a result of seeing my birds dying and PFL it was just to much to take

I only hope it never comes back to haunt my birds again??

regards to all on site

Peter

i had the same problem with my ybs in 2004 rank smell off the droppings and dieng, so a friend gave me baytril, they got over it, then as two year olds two of the cocks won the fed out of a national race and the other 1 won the fed derby,

Were the doos you speak of going on to win, were they the ones falling off the perch or were they just treated as part of the team when you administered the anti biotic?

I ask this as i firmly believe good doos are NEVER sick. Thats not to say they haven't been treated for something that wasn't actually affecting them as individuals?? :)
