sapper756 Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 There was talk at our basketing tonight, about how difficult it is to get a courier to take bird from Scotland to Englandhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif anyone used a courier lately for this route?
Guest G.Drysdale + son Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 I phoned a guy down south to bring 1 up for me he wanted £60.00
JohnQuinn Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Tried for 2 weeks last year to arrange 1 down to Carlisle, eventually took it down ma self and the gut gave me a score for the fuel. Even when they turn up you can bet its no a pigeon man and he won't have o box to put it in!! No time for any of them now.
sapper756 Posted May 21, 2010 Author Report Posted May 21, 2010 I can see this being a big problem when the young bird season starts, and we start getting birds reported and can,t get them collected, especially if it is a non fancier reporting themhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif
bibendium Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 now it looks like I am going to be unemployed, I was thinking of doing a courier service but wouldnt know what would be a fair charge, obviously I would need to cover costs and get a wage , any Ideas??
JohnQuinn Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 I can see this being a big problem when the young bird season starts, and we start getting birds reported and can,t get them collected, especially if it is a non fancier reporting them We ought to create a relay team of fanciers who will pass on a bird to someone, say 20 miles in the direction the bird needs to go, and receive birds to be passed on up/down the line, now i know it would need a lot of Good Will from any fanciers who make up the team but i'm sure we could manage it if we tried. Free is the word here!
THE FIFER Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 now it looks like I am going to be unemployed, I was thinking of doing a courier service but wouldnt know what would be a fair charge, obviously I would need to cover costs and get a wage , any Ideas?? what i have been led to believe some of the english couriers want to work with a scottish one, ie sort of relay, get in touch with some m8, could be the answer, get a drop of point for you to drop birds to go south and pick up birds comming north,
