Guest bakes Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 he's from brian nuttal stuff that dog had 10 rats with him this afternoon all the best.[/quothes never a nuttall terrier just look at the jacket on him obvious beddy ancestry and looks to leggy for a nuttall hes nuttal lines like i said pat/long haired russel i have worked and no the sire and dame to my rough black pat/russell as have worked the sire/dame below and above ground for years theres no beddy in that dog
Guest peter.j Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 and ive bred and worked terriers for the vast majority of my 40years apart from the last 5 and that dog is as far removed from nuttall dogs as my granny and in the latter years brian nuttal bred more for looks than working ability in his terriers
Guest bakes Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 and ive bred and worked terriers for the vast majority of my 40years apart from the last 5 and that dog is as far removed from nuttall dogs as my granny and in the latter years brian nuttal bred more for looks than working ability in his terriers far enough mate aint going to go into argument with you bud over a dog m8 ive got 15 years oldman 30 years grandad 50 years experience with terriers just saying what is in the dog bud everyone has there own prefurance of dog be it pure, cross or a cross with russel or bull, lakey, border or anythink else i like the pat/russel cross both parents work well so thats why i had a pup of the breeding just a worker to worker breeding yes theres nuttal lines in his parents blood but doesnt bother me if it has or not end of the day its come from working stock that grafts if you believe this its up to you bud but just saying the truth dont lie i tell it as it is mate some people like this some dont but thats me speak my mind be it lurcher, terrier as like you no to many people saying my dog does this does that belive with your own eye and your own prefurance of dogs i likes the sire dame so when a chance to have somethink from them i jumped at the chance as seen them graft and been out grafting with them i dont hide behind a computer and bull mate i say as it is and get out there and graft all the bestbud have you got any pics of your terriers you could show whats your own prefurance lakey, pat, border, russel and so on all the best.
Guest peter.j Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 will get some scanned and put up for you my preference is for lakeys the harder the better why have a dog that bays when you still have a possible 6ft plus dig and have to kill the fox yourself at the end of it i just cant see the point also borders are a handy dog if you can get one from the right lines tho these are now like rocking horse sh** [rare] dont like the blackuns[patts] as any thing under 14 inch to the shoulder and black as been called a patt/fell and peddled as such tho there are some gooduns the dog game is exactly the same as pigeons fullof people selling crap just to make a buck ,i spoke to ginger french at appleby horse fair about about a lurcher pup he was selling a lovely smooth blue pup as i was after a whippet x grey well ths pup ticked all the boxes @150.00told him id be back in about 10 minutes to buy it off him when i came back there he is telling another lad it was deerhound xgrey not whippet the sly sod was making it up as he went along just to get your money ,but like you said if it works it works ,ill get them pics up for you asap......yis pete

Guest Freebird Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Really like the look of the dog in the first two pics. Don't know nowt about working terriers but have a wee westy pet (getting on now) and may be looking for a more working type terrier soon so it is good to see there are still working breeds around. Thanks Bakes.

Thanks Bakes. theres loads about mate you just got to no the right person to go and see if you after a working terrier go and see someone that is working there dogs in your area and get a pup from worker to worker lineing every area has there own top terriermen but like any think to many people call them selfs terriermen as they keep terriers its far between from terrier owners to being a true terrierman that work there dogs week in week out threw out the season but not going to babel on all the bestm8 p.s put a pic up of your westy m8 the more the merryer the thread was put up to show off what terriers members on here own dont have to be working terriers bud as long as its terrier blood more the merryer i say all the bestbakes
