Let's not have any fall outs over the banter that goes on,on the site without a wee bit of banter the site wouldnae survive through the non racing season so we need it and yes it may get out of hand on some threads and i have to say sometimes i am as guilty as hell but hey nobody is getting harmed with it (but if it gets really personal by all meand pull it ) but sometimes the banter is what makes the site what it is so i think both sides need to relax a bit and i include myself in this ;)

nobody wants to stop banter, that's why we put on CHIT-CHAT, but as was said not many go on it, so obviously not interested in banter, good threads are being messed up by the few who want banter on pigeon related threads, you have the photos of members and real names,a great thread but taken over by the banter, look at the one in question "what treatment" thread 91 posts and 64 of them banter and the 64 is put on by 3-4 members, have a look : 11,16,17,18,19,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,31,32,33,34,35,36,39,40,41,42,43,45,46,47,48,49,51,52,53,54,55,56,57,58,59,60,61,62,63,64,65,67,68,69,70,72,73,74,75,76,77,78,79,80,81,82,83,84,85,86,87, plus what was moved, now all those posts are from about 4 members, so not really a big majority is it, and this is hoe pigeon related threads are getting messed up, mods are supposed to sort those out, the ADMIN/MODS are working hard to keep this site going, and running it as the Webmaster wants it done, there is a place for banter, and yes we dont always move a banter post, we let it go ,but you see what happens when we do, it takes over threads and count the number of members taking part in it, ??  it is a pigeon site and when members put up a related thread they want it to stay on the subject, if we didnt have boards for different subjects then what a mess we would be in, trying to find what we want,

 

I think the problem is it is a forum rather than a website, websites is where you go and get information whereas forums are interactive with members and that is where it is hard to draw the line. It only takes one daft comment and just like it is at the pigeon clubs or any other meeting place the banter starts, zero tolerance is the only way to stop it and it would ruin the site in my opinion, most would just log on and read what they needed and leave again, how many posts do we need on canker, wet droppings, yb sickness, very little people look back the archives to see what has been said previously :-/
