Keep your chin up mate, looks like you had a preditor in your flock, same happened to me yesterday and I'm still 8 birds, took mine all day to come back in ones and two's.  You will find that some will work their way back over the thext few days. I will say one thing though, should you have been tossing on race day, if a hawk or falcoln attacked your flock they will have spread out 360 degrees in panic and may have joined up and followed race birds.

sorry I misread your post, about when you tossed, but I bet there are still a lot of race birds making their way home, especially up North

You'll get some back, I'm sure of that, and remember it only takes one to win

So you will have to call it Tony, tonyone you got left lol let me know if any more work their way back

For future reference, never EVER take OB's with the YBs - it only encourages 'em to get split up.  I know you think of it as "insurance" but you gotta let 'em work it out for themselves

Cheers for that mike, bit late now lol, but surely they still should have come?? :-/ really dont get it!! had a really bad storm hear 20 mins ago only lasted 15 mins!! but was torential rain and thunder and lightening!! wind got up 2!! so if there out in that somewhere think its bye bye for them!! :'(

If they,re caught up in the rain pigeonpete it wil give you a better chance of getting them back because they will be forced to sit it out and will not venture too far, also they should be able to get some water, more a necessity than food. 14 of my youngsters went for a run 10 days ago, I had 5 after 5hrs another two after 7 hrs away, one the next morning and one more at midday, I had one reported in a non-fanciers garden some 60mls away a week later. Have some faith in your birds ability, all is not lost.

FOR ONCE I AGREE TOTALLY WITH YOU MIKE,WHEN WE STARTED PIGEONS WHICH IS 7  YEARS AGO THAT WAS SOMETHING THE OLDER FLIERS TOLD ME NEVER TAKE OLD BIRDS ALONG WITH YOUNG ONES WHEN TRAINING. ANOTHER THING THEY DID TELL ME THOUGH WAS WHEN I WAS TRAINING OLD BIRDS MAYBE STICK ONE OR TWO YOUNG BIRDS AT MOST IN ALONG WITH THEM IF I WANTED AND THAT WAY YOU CAN ONLY LOSE TWO AT MOST BUT I FOUND I NEVER LOST ANY YOUNG ONES THIS WAY BUT IT IS STILL BETTER TAKING YOUNG BIRDS THEMSELVES.SOME WILL COME HOME AND THEY WILL BE ALL THE BETTER FOR IT PETE.

I made the mistake of letting my young birds out late evening last saturday all 19 of them come nightfall I only had seven home.  Today had another work back and have now got seventeen back in the loft and as yet none reported although all have address rings on so still hope the other two make it back keep your chin up they can still come back.

so sorry thats happened pete, i would agree about not putting old birds in , as they just break off the batch and split them up, but that sounds more like a hawck attack to me, , i would think youll get a lot of these birds back yet, i certainly hope so,

a few years ago i released ybs for a trainer and saw the perigrine attack it killed one ,the rest dived for cover in the trees etc, out of about 60 ybs i finished up with about half of them during the next week [plus a few that were injured,[ but after settling them down , they flew very well as ybs and old birds

A word of advice: Never toss young birds in a East wind and clear blue sky, that includes races. Also when training young birds let them go in small batches, never all together.

I hope you get a few more return.
