Imagine if you clocked on before mike he would nibble your ears off lol. He's a spent force now through Jimmy you could take him.

Mike used to have rollers or tipplers I think seem quite popular in the states. Used to a big mike tyson fan as a youth but he is def too old now wonder if he fancies going into partnership with me we both have the boxing in common and I hear he is thinking of fighting in muay thai as well.

It would be a great partnership if our pigeons were beaten I could send big mike round to have a word with the other fanciers and maybe a little tapdance on their clocks lol. Bet he could tear an stb apart with his bare hands.

The other fanciers would have to maybe get some hardcase partners to beat him like Big Daddy, Kendo Nagaskai.

I'll stop daydreaming now

Mike Tyson was a great asset to the Pigeon People of Phoenix Arizona.  They were faced with an Ordinance that would forbid them keeping pigeons because one woman make a great stink about a supposed attack on her grandchild by a neighbours pigeon, she was at odds with her neighbour and used his pigeons as an excuse to get back at him.

There was a public hearing, where both sides had a chance to put their case to the City Council. The AU Executive Director was there to give evidence as were many people, fancy and racing guys from the Phoenix area.  Mike came to the hearing totally unannounced and made a very great speech as to why pigeons should not be banned in Phoenix.

The Ban was not put in place, but I think they will be looking at some restrictions in the future.

He does have a softer side that people overlook I watched a documentary about him once and he was in his loft in Cus D A Mato's grounds and he looked totally at ease with his birds like any fancier on here like.

Don't get me wrong I'm not defending him because his behaviour over the years has been unacceptable but like us all he does his good side. Plus I think he's been lead astray by people Cus was a calming influence in his life when he died and people like Robin Givens and Don King started calling the shots he went off the rails completely.

Very nice of him to come to the hearing to help, not many celebs would do something like that unannounced.

"one woman make a great stink about a supposed attack on her grandchild by a neighbours pigeon, she was at odds with her neighbour and used his pigeons as an excuse to get back at him.''

Can't understand people like this they want to get a life they must be bitter horrible people to get pleasure out of such behaviour lifes too short

Yes Paulo, she was a bitter woman from what I've heard.  The other neighbours took photographs of her putting pigeon feed on her lawn to encourage her neighbours birds, so that she could take photographs to court to try and [prove that they were a nuisance.

Jimmy, just got a book from the library today on pigeon racing other famous people who have raced pigeons are former England Football Captain Gerry Francis, racehouse trainer Sir Gordon Richards and the Duke of Wellington my hero "he gave the french a damn good thrashing you know''

Read this touching story in the back about a pigeons courage

The duke of wellington decided to subject some of his best birds to the ultimate test and sent them to Ichabo Isle (western africa) It is unbelievable to think that any of the birds made it home to their london lofts and to be accurate none did But less than a mile from the lofts one of the birds was discovered dead from exhaustion, 55 days after liberation. It had flown at least 5,400 miles before dying for while the line of flight is exactly that it is likely the bird would have detoured more thab 1,000 miles to avoid crossing the wastes of the sahara desert where it instinctively knew neither food or water would be available. Some estimates are that the gallant bird in fact flew 7,000 miles averaging around 127 miles daily.

If anyone called that bird a "flying rat'' I would kick 7 shades of poo out of them. My granda had one fly its heart out and die after a race and its the only time my dad said he had ever seen him, a man who had fought in a world war cry!
