weekly birdage charges?

hi i was wondering how much u all pay for sending ur birds each week?..i fly in the welsh north road federation and currently pay £6 a week fly or not.

this was, untill this season £5 a week, but they have been trying to raise funds for a new geraldy tralier(smaller then the one we already have, cos of more clubs joining our fed.) and raised it up by £1.

the £6 covers u for the 1st 20 birds.then each bird thereafter...is 25p a bird....wether u fly in the short races or the distance ones...which is around the 500 mls mark..... paul.

There are one or two organisations up here in scotland who have a similar scheme, where the members pay an agreed amount with their fed fees and this covers them for all their birdage costs for the season. the benefits are the club or fed can then budget as they know exactly how much revenue they will generate for the season. makes the secetary`s job a bit easier also as there will be less cash to handle on marking night. If you fly a good team each week it would work out good value and likewise if you only fly a small team it may work out a little more expensive. still costs less than the cost of a first class stamp to have a bird transported from one end of the country to the other, surely not a realistic price.

we just pay 40p a bird any race, any distance but we also have to pay a £2 loft pool aswell (just to bump up prize money I think ;) )

in our fed we pay £100 fed fees this includes 10 free birds a race for inland races. then its 25p a bird. i put a proposition in this year to raise to to 30p, acording to some members i should have been hung! yet they will moan at the end of the year when everyone has to be levied!!!! people need to wake up and be realistic about things.

We have prepaid shipping, this covers us for 12 Old Birds 15 Young Birds A Race 12 or 15 birds B Race and 5 birds C Race. We paid $300 - about 160 quid up front for Old Birds and this includes all our long distance races and the same amount for young birds this also includes 2 300 mile races. Our B races do not have a shipping limit, any birds over the 12 and 15 are charged at a buck a bird - about 55 pence and we can sent trainers to the C race at 50 cents a birds about 26/27 pence a bird.

The figures fluctuate depending on how many members are sending.  Currently we have 10 paid up for young birds.

New flyers who do not have enough birds to benefit from the prepaid shipping are charged a buck a bird on all three races.

IN OUR CLUB WE PAY 50p A BIRD FOR ALL THE INLAND RACES EXCEPT FOR THE LONGEST YOUNG BIRD RACE WHICH IS 75p WHICH IS TRURO APPROX.180 MILES.THE CHANNEL RACES ARE PRICED AT £2.00 PER BIRD FOR THE FIRST TWO RACES AND £2.50 PER BIRD FOR THE NEXT TWO,THE FURTHEST RACE BEING APPROX 450 MILES.OUT OF THE ENTRACE FEE WE HAVE TO PAY WHAT EVER THE FED CHARGE IS AND THEN WHAT IS LEFT GOES AS PRIZEMONEY.SOME OF THE INLAND RACES(NORTH ROAD) WERE NOT SUPPORTED VERY WELL IN THE FED THIS YEAR SO THE HIGHEST CHARGE WAS £1.57 PER BIRD FOR A 200 MILE RACE SO WE MADE A BIG LOSS ON THAT RACE,BUT THEN AGAIN OUR LAST OLD BIRD RACE THE FED ONLY CHARGED US £1.00 PER BIRD AND WE PAYED £2.50 A BIRD IN THE CLUB.

up here they pay approx 35p to 49 p per bird yb racing until you get to the open and yb nat..probaly think im mad but if say the first 25 birds were at that price then 5 pound a bird there after, there wouldnt be so much rubbish bred and folks would be more care full with there birds, i know it would never happen,,,,,,but makes you think??? plenty fanciers started off with over one hundred ybs, their mostly down to an ave 30 if their lucky? my freind started with 22 and has 18 left [and won more money]

so it has to make you think??? :) :)
