Guest Gareth Rankin Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Hi Alf Lanarkshire has 10,000 birds at some races, so to cope with this we would need 2 rigid bodies that each hold 4,000 birds each cost 100,000 euros approx each. And then ideally a trailer that hooks on to the back of one of the vechicles that holds 2,000 birds which will cost 40,000 euros that could be used for 3 or 4 races which would be needed. Other options 2 x 5,000 bird trailers that cost approx 100,000 each but then you still need to hire the transport each week. All the above is prices from new, but although it is not cheap i beleive this is a road that we will have to take.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 never had 10,000 in the last two years

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 I DOUBT IF WE WILL SEE A TRANSPORTER WITH 10,000 IN THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE WITH THE WAY PIGEONS ARE GETTING LOST AND THE MEMBERSHIP IS DROPPING EVERY YEAR
frank-123 Posted September 21, 2006 Author Report Posted September 21, 2006 could you not buy one that maybe say holds 6000 birds then maybe hire another that would hold 4000 for the first four or five yb races or maybe south lanarkshire fed or midland fed would join us to cut the cost but still have seperate liberations what maybe or no chance?
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 the most we sent this year was just under 8,500
THE FIFER Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 IT IS GOOD IF U HAVE TWO TRAILORS ONE BIG ONE SMALL .

Hi Bart You have to remember that we have generally 8 - 10 races were we have more than 6,000 birds, as far as i know you can not hire these geraldy transporters. Agree with you on the other feds transporting along with us even more when it comes to the 200 mile stage. I would even go so far as to say that within the coming years that we will be all flying under the one banner LF. P.S Tammy i know that this year we only had 6 races with more than 6,000 birds. ;D
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 NEXT YEAR WE WILL STILL BE STUCK WITH THE SAME OLD BONESHAKER
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 > Hello and welcome Jocky You seem to be quite angry with your first post.

GREENGRASS Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Well bart can you see your birds in one of those beauties next year. is that what the meeting is all about, new transport and race control. what price does one of those new trailers run too and could the fed cover the costs with sales of young birds, breeder buyer, late breds, gold ring schemes open races or forming a combine to help costs.
pender Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 One that holds 6.000 with 4.000 trailer should do us, and yes garth it will happen us together even the ones that dont want it will have to bite there tongue and go along with it if they want to continue racing there birds.
frank-123 Posted September 21, 2006 Author Report Posted September 21, 2006 some great ideas there greengrass but maybe not next season bit of hard work from the members it could happen ayrshire, ballochmyle, south lanarkshire, glasgow, renfrewshire, midland and lanarkshire all going down the road together makes sense to me put the right people in place it might happen just make sure lanarkshire members 5th of october for the open meeting then 25th november for the agm

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 THE FED HAS A LOT OF MONEY AND A LOT OF THE FLIERS WANT TO SEE SOME OF THE THOUSANDS OF POUNDS SPENT ON SOMETHING THAT THEY CAN BENEFIT FROM BECAUSE AFTER PAYING IN FOR 30 OR 40 YEARS THEY WANT NEW TRANSPORT THAT THEY CAN AT LEAST SEE THE BENEFIT OF FROM THEIR MONEY. THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF RUMOURS FLYING AROUND THAT MEMBERS FROM THE WEST SECTION WANT TO BREAK AWAY AND THIS IS ABSOLUTE NONSENSE THEY ARE STAYING PUT BECAUSE IT IS PARTLY THEIR FED AND THEIR MONEY. AND IF YOU READ THIS HOMER49 TELL THEM THE WEST SECTION IS GOING NOWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
