Crap Ben!!! I and many more were in favour of the race and dont take the p*** by calling it a semi International!!!!

The International race was dropped (i believe) because we couldnt use the NFC leased transporter which was against the contract.

By im willing to be coreected if anyone is in the know?

Mr. Wilcox Sorry but Dax is a semi the four full internationals are Pau,Barcelona,Marsailles and Perpignan that is not knocking any flyer the performances of Mr.Sheppard Mr.Gilbert in the NFC and Dave Posey in the Bicc are superb but Dax is a semi . Lets get back to the question the cost of the transporter /annum and lets work together to get an Answer.

A POINT OF CLARIFICATION: Dax does not form part of the prestigeous 'Europa Cup' average competition which consists Pau,Barcelona,Marseilles and Perpignan ...

but to try to deny the significance/prestige of a race with 20000+ pigeons competing from across Northern and Eastern Europe is a folly. It is not a 'semi' anything in that the same competitors are competing as from Pau,Barcelona,Marsailles and Perpignan.

As for the trailers now used/leased by the NFC I too have heard a variety of rumours (including £40000/year) and if I were still a member of that once-great club I'd want to KNOW fact not rumour?

Makes me smile... 20, 000 from different nations and that is supposedly downed to a semi ... When Part of, or a Section of a Nation win, and many not even recognised as Nations are freely touted to Be 'NATIONAL' winners by flyers in this country and advertised as such on the Selling adverts - which is another amazement as they haven't no birds to sell till  the year dot etc. - AS national winners, and many flock behind with bated breathe hanging onto every morsel of ficticious twaddle!

I should co coa!

Seems that the only certainty facing the NFC is that IF THEY don't fill their ‘Transporters’ they will have a Mill Stone around their necks cost wise at least, and the more that leave the heavier the stone will get! That’s a realistic fact …. Surely?

Now the two simple realistic things are, as far as I can see.1. Whether or not they were silly last season or not is irrelevant! Which needs to be quickly put behind them?

2. They need to put forward a trustworthy programme(s) for next season and stick to them!

Was always told to have two strings to the bow!

If North meant keeping the club, and a high percentage together. meant that if need be North was went to save the day till later, then so be it.

Personally I also believe that MFC. etc. etc. should be BACKING Peter Bryant, and further should have had a professional mouth piece and a Think Tank already in Place... namely a P.R. firm.

But of course whilst the senile bickering about Peter should 'Adapt' and be Cook, bottle washer and kitchen cleaner, then it is an uphill fight.

Yes I believe that there is a very good chance of Channel racing next season, as long as vote catching doesn't follow any Flu outbreaks.

But for Gordon Bennett’ sake surely time is too much of the essence to be piddling and shilly - shallying around. That will drive a wedge and drive the NFC club and others to the wall quicker than anything.

Needs to be in place NOW! Or the AGM will be for a few only.

Many will have resigned any way and watch how things develop and say the will rejoin if.... But when they have already joined another club it will quite naturally be 'Well I've join ***** now, so will see how it goes this season ... and the rope will already be TAUNTED and the NFC hung it's self!

Oh yes and the need to tell some truth … at least to gain some lost respect… and would ‘Sticking to what the members have voted for’! be a bit cheeky …. Likewise the stated price per bird stays just that… the price agreed to before hand!

hi Stuart,

I may be going senile but when the NFC members were first allowed to vote on racing in the Internationals,DAX lost the vote...BARCELONA  got through,  but to my utter dismay, the members voting rights were ignored, what a shame,Barcelona basketing on our doorstep never happened, and i well understand the NFC comittees thoughts, simply because the NFC lose money at PAU,and Barcelona would have crippled their finances.

As for Dax being a International :D :Dmany  members on the English South coast do not even fly 500 miles, what a joke :D :D,how can you class that,it will be getting to the stage when some comedians start stating theMNF,UNC,actually are Nation races :'( :'(

The word 'International' does not in itself confer anything to do with distance flown ... it simply means competition amongst two or more nation states? As such it cannot be denied that Dax is an International race!

I've hunted around for any printed matter on the NFC trailers and here are a couple of paragraphs lifted from a report by Brian Stansfield:-

OWNERS & SERVICE PROVIDERS - J. P. Haulage of Warwickshire

This firm is buying and operating both transporters and the National Flying Club has an exclusive 7-year contract with them. The NFC has an option to renew the contract at the end of 7 years. J. P. Haulage will handle the whole operation, and the owner Mr Paul Bakewell intends to drive one of the vehicles to the races.

FINANCE

With the two transporters being bought privately by J. P. Haulage this means there will be no levies required from NFC members.

Well with the ammount of people apparently leaving the NFC this year, not all areas of the country will be represented so I guess we will be called the Semi National Flying Club. If the club didn't hold those precious letters (NFC) with all the bad decisions this year, next year it would be doubtful there would even be a club. People still believe you are in the premier club in the country, but after this year I think other clubs came out better.

Golly got dab hands at it ain't they. The Belgiums socked it to us Gullible ones for years, now 'Feathet Merchants' are advertising what put the Belges to shame lol.

7th Section 318  worded as a National winner from a combine racng lol.

I don't think avoiding answers is the wrong stance Rose (for them!). When there’s nowt good to say ... Say nowt, ride the storm and be heard in the lull is, I believe, the only way the NFC can go. As frustrating as it is. They will shout loud enough when they have had time to reform and set a new strategy.  They shout loud enough when there is something to shout about... until then they will - quite correctly - stay mum.

Things will pass and be soon best be forgotten, why! Who knows, it mat well be that 80% will be clapping and cheering them in 12 months as to what a knowledgeable bunch they were that quite rightly proved themselves to be correct by saying nothing... besides you can't raise an objection, a point of view or even a proper query when they say nowt. Fickleness is rampant in this sport, as time as shown time and time after time.

Any one that has created a name, as a Breeder or good racer will be followed sheepishly and led every time. Rich men will again as always be applauded whilst robbing them blind. So when certain ones say ‘ A load of Cods – wallop’ then the mass will be enthralled, yes and spout as to just how smart they were, and that ‘They knew all along that they knew what they were doing … In the mean time, those that are getting dried out from the P**S being drawn out will have left, a the Clubs and B. the sports. And money making machinery will still be followed to the bitter end lol.

What has entitlement got to do with it eh!

The reason it has gone on so long is simply because it can! and will!

As for my Delegate, he will stick to what he's told to like the rest  which is what they have decide. Which again is 'Nowt be said or confirmed. And as for having confidence in the committee ... well out side of Mick NO one has, or could have confidence in them... And Mick will be hauled in, braced and buckled gobbed or - yhey will make it , well so he givess up and leaves. They have been umpteen done that!

And again Rose, unfortunately paying your Club fee hasn't ever got you your rights... seldom if ever will it  either UNLESS it suits them!

And as for where your money is going it is simplt  the same again... look at the AGM edited Accounts.

So why does one think anythink will change eh.

Fine I believe you ... that's why after asking the same questions week in week out, day in and day out one is still asking ... I rest my case.

And I believe that Mick is the only one that is conversing on here.

As the old 'Proven' saying goes, the proof of cooking is in the eating... seems will are expected to starve.
