some dont do nothing and some do,some great pigeons have come of of the £99 for 6 just look at Champion Magic Blue, the thing is its funny when you buy them you dont get a pedigree but they soon can knock one up once they bought it back.Thats the question always been on my mind. But ya cant take it away from them, they do offer quality pigeons for working mans prices

I bought 6 for £99 about 5 years ago, they didn't do anything so didn't buy any more.

That was then, I've just ordered another 6 for £99 for next year, at this price I think they're worth a try, if these don't do anything I'll probably leave it for another 5 years. ;D

YOU WILL GET A PEDIGREE IF YOU PAY THE EXTRA FOR IT YOU ONLY HAVE TO ASK FOR WHEN YOU WANT THE BIRDS

nah i dont think i could do better mate, because they were all difrent shapes and sizes, maybe i could win a yb race but i dont think they would be good as yearlings and so on. thats why my uncles came round and culled the lot after the season.

further more to your question, has anybody bred anything from stock birds brought from louella?

I HAVE BRED A GREAT HEN AND COCK FROM TWO PAIRS OF JAN ARDENS I BOUGHT NOT OUT OF A £99 FOR 6 LOT THOUGH BUT THEY WERE FROM PAIRS THAT HE ADVERTISES LATER IN THE YEAR CANT REMEMBER THE PRICE BUT THEY ARE A GREAT BUY AND THEY WERE 2 YEAR OLDS, SAME AGAIN THIS YEAR HAD SOME GREAT YOUNG BIRD JANSENS BOUGHT FROM BIRDS THE SAME WAY LAST YEAR

suppose with the amount of decent pigeons they have bought they must breed some good birds out of them. Think Louellas problem is they have a bad rep going back to the earliar days with talk of falsfied pedigrees, fanciers receiving young birds in poor condition etc. However talking to most people now they seem to provide an efficent service with the birds in top class condition.

Plus they do provide birds at working mens prices the prices some people charge for young birds is unreal. I don't care what sort of pedigree it is what it is bred off it is an untested bird that could get lost after a couple of training tosses or never win nought and the price should reflect that.

Good pigeons breed crap as well in fact my bird had a pair of his best racers that never bred anything that won yet he had a pair of medicro birds that weren't that great in racing and they bred birds that chalked fed positions. Funny things obviosuly if you do breed good birds together it heightens the chances of breeding good youngsters but surely better to test everything in the loft with the basket.

Problem is now people pay a forture for young birds and won't race them and use them for stock because obviously if they have spent £100 on a young un they are don't want to loose it. So they breed youngs off an untested bird to race they could be good or bad however if they are bad the fanciers think well I paid £100+ for this young so it must breed something good. Hence they end up filling the loft full of crap and people wonder why young bird losses are as high.

I think one of the reasons the top men like M&D Evans etc are so successful in breeding winners is they are ruthless if a bird can't perform its not worthy of a perch, if winners can't breed winners, well they have to go.

I think everybodies guitly of this to some extent I must admit I will find it hard to get rid of some of my racers if they don't breed birds that are capable of flying the full programme and pick up a couple of chalks as a bonus on the way.

I'm guity of doing the same thing at the minute with just starting off using unproven birds for stock that have never raced. Advice I have been given is when buying a pigeon take no notice of all this brother of direct son of crap and go to an entire clearnace sale and buy pigeons that have at least 3 chalks to their name and pair them together fair enough their are no guartentees there but surely better than pairing birds together that have never even raced. Bit expensive was my reply to the old man when he told me to do this but he said not as expensive as buying overpriced youngs uns and putting them in the stock loft straight away.

Does Louella race?????

In Fife "Beefys Boy flow the Channel 3 times scored 3 Times (hawked dead) as a 2yo was a Kit Bird ...lets face it you on ave u get 1 from 10 a decent Bird 1/50 a good Bird and 1/10000 a great Bird who ever you get them from or families

when the add says strait from the nest you don't think your going to get them sent out old enough to be trained :-/

Bought 6 last year van reets, didnt win but still got 4 of them here, were consistent, by my standards anyway ;D ;D bought 2 pair of roland jannsens 4 stock this year, so hope they breed a few nice ones ;)

A couple in our club just bought  them as latebreds... both take all the beating.

I bought a couple of  so called sprint birds to make up my mates numbers... 6 years on, still flying the Distance, and are as good as any!

Many have top flyer has purchased g/ children and double G Children and few out their skins. Even at National and international level.

In reality are as good as I guess. Fairer than most Feather Mechants, and obviously the more sold, the higher the % of culls... or bad management!

Louis stated  that 'Though breeding from the best can't guarantee winners ... it increases the chances'.

When paying £99 for 6 surely it boils down to pot luck but i cant see why you cant get a pedigree, whatever price you pay you should get some pedigree maybe if you saw the pedigree first you would never buy them, thats why you dont get one?????or it because it takes time to sort pedigree which in a business like louella time is money so cost will go up???

prob the cost thing as they will give you peds if you specially ask for them and pay more.

That old potato has raised it's head for a spell now. But you still get a Certificate of Origin... Same as a pedigree of so called Strain in reality I guess, or even more so.

Basically saves a wage or two in recording and writing 1000's out I guess.

Me personally believe that pedigrees are only as good as the man is honest that writes them.... and very soon 'In good Faith' is just that, regardless.

Know a very famous fancier /Seller of a strain, that will admit that the original birds that produced the 'Performances' weren't actually of the strain sold... his later performances were though apparently ... and he will ell you that! Obviously a house hold name now.

Paper doesn't fly, never has and only the Blow home paper bag days could on be produced... but then again be hard clocking it in lol.

Busseart was about as honest as you will ever get.

And nigh ALL strains owe their success to the out cross... from often another loft of course.

very true the basket is the pedigree if it performs than its great. Any fool can make a pedigree up.

I couldn't give you a pedigree for any of the birds in my cree at the minute but if they breed young birds that perform next year I don't really care about not having the shiney piece of paper
