swilcox Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 In Holland the best are as follows Sprint, Verkerk, Peter Van De Merwe, Jan Karstons, W Klaverstijn, Van Doorn, Gert Munnink, Fran Zwols. Jan Ouwerkerk, F Strijkers. Middle Koopmans, Sangers, Piet Van De Merwe, Van Den Berg and Zn, Shroevers, Bosua, Harm Vermveld. Long Distance Polder, Van Domelon, Bruggeman, Raymond Moleveld, Chris Van De Velden, Wim Van De Velden, Wijnands G Van Tuyl etc I know you wont know all the names but they are all super flyers!!!!!!! Stuart
Mike Lycett Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Sprint - Verkerk. Simple as that for me
swilcox Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Peter Van De Merwe might have something to say about that mike, not much between them and Peter is sending 1/2 the number of birds!!! But for sure they are both at the very top of dutch sprint racing. Stuart
Mike Lycett Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 I'd have a higher regard for Bas on sprinting - the further they go Peter come into it a bit more? Just nit-picking really. Both are world class
swilcox Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 I must say Raymond speaks very highly of the Verkerks and he tells me they are really nice people too!!!
Guest CS Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Mike, and Stuart. What about Bert Brasspenning? Thank you all for your comments...
Mike Lycett Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 What about him ? I'm sure if Stu thought him THAT good he'd have mentioned him - so would I
swilcox Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 Sorry to tell you mate he is an English thing!!!! He doesnt rate in the current dutch scene!!! Most people wouldnt even know who he was!!! He was good along time ago!!!! This year he sold one of his racing hens to a guy in Bristol for £500 and told him she was a star, he asked me to take a look at the pedigree and race record, it turns out in 3 years of racing she didnt even finish in the top 10 of the club!!!!! He is a wiser man now Stuart
Guest CS Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 try these links lots of belgium and holland fanciers on them http://stuart.malcolm4.users.btopenworld.com/link.htm

Stuart Thank you - that's what i want to know about.... Does Piet Van De Merwe fly the blacks?
gangster Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 yes he has some super blacks, there are other good flyers of all distances both in belgium and holland who dont enter the nom races who have outstanding results as for bert brasspenning nowdays seems to sell more off his reputation than his results in england as ive been told off my dutch friends
Chris Little Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 I would favour the Dutch before the Belgians
rockinrick Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 lol , i know they are good flyers there is no dought but would they do so good over here in england , as we have different surroundings and more wires and stuff , jus a thought
gangster Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 rockinrick...good point also no channel to fly i think the ace flyers would still be good here but everyone seems to ignore how bloody good the flyers here ,i think our best out there would compete at the top level in holland with no problems at all infact id go as far as to say they would become superstars over there....mick
Roland Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 Seems the pack is being followed. Many greats are not heard of that supply these NAMES with the stock and birds. Stu and co should know this. Also Haven't seen any of the Greats that are out of 'Location' being given a mention! So follow the Feather Sellars, and position. YYes it goes with out saying these names are class acts... but the best....
swilcox Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 Roland, just telling how it is, the results are there to see and read by all!!!!!!! Stuart P.S. Roland i dont sell birds for anyone in the list other than Raymond, who won 1st Nat St Vincent 37,000b and 1st NPO Brive 7500b in the last few years plus 2nd NPO 28,000b and 1st Combine 11,236b this season!!! My veiw was asked and given!!!
gangster Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 cant argue with raymonds results stu ps how did sale go today...mick

Roland Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 Stu That wasn't the point I was making, and as person that sells pigeons I regard you personally, from what I have heard, that you are one of the better ones by far... and genuine. One for instance that will put forward for a good cause without looking for the AD andslap on the back. I for instance know of serveral real great breeders that has bred and who in fact supply many of the so called grat names ... yes they can do well with the birds etc. But that be as it may, many aren't known possibly by most here for instance. And as such though very good birds they breed, with their name thay would sell much say over here... but under another well known name that flew them well... Likewise, the Netherlands are / have been possiblely the best distance flyers for some time now, especially when one looks at the performances in regards of ratio in birds sent. Then the Kipps Brothers! They must be the most fornominal of flyers... 17 timed in from Barcelona after dark to win! 3 in a minute at 1 02... then 1 03 /04 etc. 17 before 1 20 in the morning. Those putting names up know of Kipps brothers etc. is all I am saying, and many truely greats are missing ... but then they are selling feathers I suppose. And another thing, argueably the best birds of europe, the Continent are over here... regardless whether still advertised and sold as still there. Then the So call Fellows that import rings and sell as ...
