I AM POSTING THIS THREAD IN THE HOPE THAT THE MORE EXPERIENCED FANCIERS WILL POST UP SOME NATURAL REMEDIES FOR SOME OF THE ILLNESSES NOW PRESENT AND ONES THAT CAN BE HAD FOR VERY LITTLE MONEY BECAUSE SOME OF THE THINGS YOU HAVE TO BUY COST A FORTUNE, TWO THINGS I WAS TOLD TO USE ARE BAKING SODA AND NEVER HAD CANKER SINCE USING THIS , DROP OF IODINE KEEP'S THE BLOOD HEALTHY, CIDER VINEGAR AND LIVE YOUGHURT ARE ANOTHER TWO ,GARLIC, AND ALL THESE COST PENNIES NOT POUNDS, HOPE WE GET SOME MORE POSTED THAT CAN SAVE US MONEY

Im not an old fancier myself LOL, but an old fancier I know uses white nettles in the water, he boils them and adds it too the water, and I think he does it to purify the blood. His birds always have nice pink unscaly flesh so it does something for them

A quick cure for sour crop is about as cheap as you can get, use a stringe and fill it with 1/10th malt vinegar and 9/th's cooled boiled water, clears in up in no time.

 

If you have a hen that is lacking calcium, break a Milk of Magnesia (or something smiliar)tablet into 4 pieces, give 1/4 to the bird twice a day for two days.

 

Now a freebie !!!!! bake your chicken egg shells in the oven until they are dried out, crish them with a rolling pin and add to the grit, loads of calcium there my friend.

mix all together and place in a cake tin cook for 40-45 min in a moderate oven let cool down and crumble up and feed to the birds.

Instead of going through the hassle  of boiling nettles go to health shop and get nettle teabags about £1 for 20 also Dandelion ones same price good for blood

some of you guys do not have a clue soda bic is great for indigestion IF YOU GET THE DOSAG RIGHT!! IT CAN CAUSE SERIOUS RENAL AND HEPTATIC PROBLEMS IF TAKEN AT THE WRONG QUANTITIES AT THE WRONG TIME.

whats the dosage of bi carb    , if i remember right that was the main ingredient in the white sesqui pills of old hand ,,could be wrong
