Guest Vic Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Hi Guys At this time of the year, with a.g.m.'s in the offing, It's nice to see that some members are thinking of bringing some of our antiquated pools systems up to date. The best Iv'e seen for a while , that does away with the old:- 5p (A) 10p ( etc. etc. etc. has been proposed at our local club. i.e.:- POOLS:- Maximum 10 birds per member @ £1. Winning Ratio:- 50%. 25%. 15%. & 10%. THIS CUTS OUT THE "WIDE WADDERS" WHO POOL THE LOT , BE IT ANY LIMIT! Things like this can mean a lot for the little'ns trying to compete with the "BIG BOYS" who thrive on SELLING. Vic.
REDCHEQHEN Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Don't you pool any more than 10p ? I don't see any problem with somebody pooling all birds, its the ones who don't pool at all that I can't understand.
Guest Vic Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Redcheqhen,Youv'e read it the wrong way! £1. per pigeon.
REDCHEQHEN Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Redcheqhen,Youv'e read it the wrong way! £1. per pigeon. That amounts to swearing in my club £1, you end up getting your money back cos you're the only one who's pooled to £1 LOL ;D I thought you meant 10 noms for a £1 (10p each) :B :B
Chatrace Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 We have two types of pools here. One is a 35 cents a bird Entry which is paid on a percentage raste for the 1st 6 places and a flyer can onlt win 3 of the 6 places even if he has the first 10 birds. Helps everyone get a prize. The 2nd type of pool is one that you can bet on an unlimited number of birds, from 10 cent ,25,50,100 doller and 5 dollar. Again the flyer can onlt win 3 place in each of the amounts on a 10 to 1 payout
johnny11 Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 Have to agree the pooling system is way outdated and a joke. Last year in the young birds I won the £1 pools and got £2. Time to move on but like anything else in the pigeon game "We fear change" John
Guest Posted November 27, 2006 Report Posted November 27, 2006 in our club each member pools £3 pick 4 birds and then split 50% 30% 20% 1 prize per loft. we have a £1 nom bird has to win the race.
