me Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 all the very best with the show this year Doostalker after last years disappointment. But don't make up for lost time and have too many of those "wee goldies"!!!!
me Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 WHERE YOU BEEN ALL NIGHT DOOSTALKER T"HE ARGYLL" OR IS WAS THAT TOO BUSY FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest Doostalker Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 Yeah you are right; I prefer a much quieter place with only one or two people. Just like the agm of your fan club! Which telephone box this year?? :D Seriously, had some work to do for Monday, and then busy with show preparations. You coming over this year?? I might even buy you a couple of those wee goldies!!!! ;)
Guest Doostalker Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 For anyone wanting to go to the show here is a link to get a schedule. http://www.scottishpigeontrust.com/DunoonShow.html If you haven't been yet, why not take a trip "Doon the Watter" and enjoy the day. The Queen's Hall, Dunoon is only one hour from the centre of Glasgow by car and ferry. Or you can get a train from Glasgow Central direct to the ferry terminal at Gourock, then a 20 minute sail across the Clyde, having a wee refreshment on the way! Walk 100 yards and you are in the Queen's Hall! Then after you have met all your mates at the show, admired all the birds (or even burdz!) and had a few more wee refreshments at the bar in the hall, you can walk back to the ferry, get the train and have a wee sleep on the way back home. What could be easier?? Henrik has promised to take his wife overseas this year. wonder what she will say when she finds out it's to Dunoon!
showman Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 Great to see the Dunoon International going again this year. What a great weekend it is !! Can't wait Paul
me Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 As a veteran of a few Cowal Games I can assure you the laddies and lassies on "the peninsula" are supreme "artistses" of the "peesch" variety and a good time will be had by all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest Doostalker Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Cowal Games is unique and one of the most enjoyable events in the summer calendar. Over the past ten years or so, since street drinking was banned in tne town, the event has become a much more family orientated spectacle. All the artists you mention no longer attend! It looks like you haven't been for a while me. Why is that?? ??) The Dunoon International Show tries to be a welcoming event with lots of hospitality and a good Scottish flavour. why don't you come over and sample the atmosphere. Richard is thinking about being there with a PB stand. :)
Guest Doostalker Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 The Dunoon International Show is on next week, with over 900 birds in single tier. Judges include Barry Kinnear and Scott Gibson. There are various studs with birds for sale and trade stands for your pigeon requisites. There is an auction of birds from all over the UK at 3pm on the Saturday. Judges have donated birds and also fanciers of the status of Robert Cormack. It has been suggested to Richard of Pigeon Basics that it would be good to have a stand at the Show to promote the site. Richard is up for this idea, so it looks like Pigeon Basics will be there too. A great chance to meet alll your mates from the web!! For further details contact me by IM or check out previous posts.
Guest Doostalker Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 It looks like with over 900 birds on display this is the biggest show in Scotland this year so far.
