Roland Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 Thought this might be of an interest. It is off the Alberta Classic Pigeon forum. http://www.albertaclassic.net/hawks/hawks.php
Roland Posted January 14, 2007 Author Report Posted January 14, 2007 Though they are not being re - introduced to Germany. There was a great program on this subject just a few months ago, and it seems that the RSPB has the ones that arrive here transferre out if possible ...

Roland Posted January 14, 2007 Author Report Posted January 14, 2007 Can't say really, but have implicit trust in it. I will see over the next week or so, as I will lomblast them Hawks - a couple of hundred yards away with a 1000 watts per channel through out each and every night lol. Sound travells well in the still of the night, so I reckon the next 30 mile radious will be cleared. Neighbours will think they are close and must be large, so be too scare to go outside and investigate lol. Mind the hawks have cleared the crows. Saw on on my roof today actually, and a magpie yesterday. But I doubt if either will remain for long. Crows clear the magpies, and use their nests. Crows circle and antagonise hawks ... Till food is tight, then they are ate or move on. Still a loads of pigeons in the ole Picture House, but hey have cleared the crows, so the must have thought they were pushimng their luck, or got ate. Seriously I believe in them 110%
kev01293 Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 i play my eagle owl cd every day for 1 hr b4 letting my birds out for excercise and i havnt had a hit since (thanks tam) i was on the verge of giving up pigeons b4 i had even started racing due to hawks but im now keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that tams eagle owl cd will continue to keep the hawks at bay, have other fanciers who have tried the cd found it to be effective ?? im not kidding myself into believing that my raptor problem is over and am still constantly on the look out while my birds are excercising but the cd has been a godsend and long may it continue kev :)
Guest Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 Quick browse to see if there was any update on, or estimated numbers of european eagle owls breding in the wild in Britain. Nothing on that but our 'friennds' have a policy item on them on their website. Double standards, methinks. http://www.rspb.org.uk/policy/species/eagleowl/index.asp
Wiley Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 im quioet lucky the guy two doors away keeps barn owls
